Biggest sell out in history. Yesterday I was the most hurt Nicki Minaj fan ever, she has totally left behind all her fans from back in 2008. If you're gonna try and get a hit it doesn't mean you have to make a pile of crap.
I don't think she's sold out, Super Bass was hardly pure hip-hop was it?
I agree with shaunnashines too, it doesn't seem very RedOne at all! Was surprised when I found out it was him. Definitely thought Dr Luke at first, but then what's original nowadays?
I dont understand the concept of "selling out", she's doing music she enjoys, artists grow, they like to do different things to keep it fresh, its not "selling out" to make a pop song, its a smart move because she's seen what her most popular genre is (i.e. songs like Super Bass).
Super Bass (her biggest song)
Turn Me On (her second biggest song)
Where Them Girls At?
Check It Out
Till The World Ends Remix
2012
Give Me All Your Luvin'
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (performance with Katy Perry)

I love how versatile she is getting
It means she can appeal to more than one Music audience, something very few rappers can do.

She's getting LESS and LESS versatile by the day I'm starting to think. A lot of her songs are starting to sound the same. This new song sounds too much like Turn Me On.
She used to be different, but now she's just the same as everybody else.
I hate to say this, but her new song is just a poorly done clone of Katy Perry and Ke$ha's songs.

I disagree she can do songs like starships turn me on and superbass but she can also pull of more hip hop songs if she wants to like stupid hoe and romans revenge did it on em so I would say she is very versitale.

I disagree, she is still different and can do my dance songs but also rap songs.
I don't blame her for going down the more pop, dance route with Starships because all of her most successful songs (Superbass, Turn Me On) have had a similar sound.
She is hardly selling out. She is just making money by releasing songs that will chart well, which just happens to be dance music atm. Whatever music she makes she is always going to be different to anything else out there because she raps and 'sings'.
The breakdown in this song, isn't very generic either. Anyway, nowadays, anything with a hook or catchy chorus seems to be considered pop music.
