Is not reheating already cooked food properly dangerous?

Hi,
Last night I had a really nice beef casserole cooked in the slow cooker.
Afterwards I put the leftovers in a microwavable bowl and brought them in with me today for lunch.

It was a fairly big amount so i gave it 5 minutes in the microwave.
However when i started eating it the food at the bottom was hot and the rest just luke warm. But as it's a 2 minute walk back to the microwave (and I'm a tad lazy) I ate on regardless.

I'm now a little worried that i should have cooked it more thoroughly.
If food such as this has been cooked properly once, does it then rule out food poisoning/stomach problems if that same food is not sufficienltly warmed up again afterwards?

I wouldn't worry about it. Technically it's probably dangerous but I doubt any harm will come to you.

You should always make sure reheated food (especially meat) is piping hot.

However as long as the food was stored in the fridge and hasn't had too much time at room temperature (ideal breeding temp for germs), then you should be fine.

It'll be fine. But, for future, give whatever you're heating a stir half way through and that'll ensure the heat is distributed more evenly.

i doubt very much if it is dangerous

if you could eat the food cold, and you quickly reheat it instead and heat it straightaway, thren how can there be a problem.

i think the issue comes with letting warmed food stand, as any bacteria can then multiply. so they get over-protective, and tell us it's a problem.

For the same reason, I think you could slightly thaw stuff, cut a bit off, and then refreeze.

You'll be fine. People are far too scared of what they are eating.
