I have to say I agree with StressMonkey. Now I have 3 cats I often think about having some more, which is strange because I was perfectly happy when I just had my Tabitha, but part of me is wanting to help all those unwanted cats out there. Part of me is still looking for a replica of Tabitha

However, practically and financially, as well as for the good of my present cats, it would not be sensible for me to take on any more because there will always be cats looking for homes, no matter how many I take on.
It's more important to provide the right environment for the cats I do have, They have space, freedom and good relationships with each other. I can afford to feed them good food, vaccinate, flea and worm them, they are all insured etc - but I still have money for myself and my cats haven't taken over my life though they contribute greatly to my enjoyment of life.
20+ cats is surely too many despite good intentions and a kind heart. I can't imagine that the cats themselves would be that happy living in a group that large.
I hope this doesn't come across as too critical. I suppose it's just so alien to my own home life and I just can't imagine living with all those cats.
