Within a week of each other i trapped a long hair tabby that had been abandond in a farm yard. I was also brought a pregnant cat that had be kicked out of her house. Then someone tried too flush it in a toilet. The a lady brought her too me she was realy upset but couldnt take care of her anymore. We think she is about 8wks + pregnant now so due any day. We have called her nightjar. The tabby is called Angel or fluffy or fluffykins or baby.

Thankyou. These two are staying for sure but the kittens are going too rehomed. I am also going too homecheck them as well. The tabby needs too be dematted and for a full dematt off a vet its going too cost around £107. Which i am saving up for now. I also been going too my brothers too feed his cats as he has been hurt in a cycle accident (fractured hip socket) then coming back and seeing too mine afterwards

Bless your wonderful generous heart for doing this. We have just taken in a rescue cat and the joy she brings us every day is just amazing. How anyone could have abandoned her is beyond me She is so beautiful and we are slowing building her confidence.

I always think cats find their way to those they are meant to be with. Maisey Moo there must be invisible path to your house for all those in need, as another poster said you have such a kind heart.

Last August I took in two nervous young cats at the time one was 2yr and 1 yr, their prevous owner felt she couldn't look after them after having a baby. So I have become the proud mum to two beautiful girls, the most nervous one is still very wary but is allowing me to scratch the side of her head on the odd occasions and she likes to sleep on my bed as long as I look but don't touch. Last year I had to have my 20 year girl pts so these girls have helped me greatly.

Oh Maisey, you've such a wonderful heart. But how many cats is that now? By my reconning it must be about 20. Now you're facing over £100 for one cat, plus a spay for the other. Plus worming, flea treatments and innoculations. So, about £300 in all. You were saving up to get your existing kittens spayed and vaccinated. Are you getting the new cats FIV tested?

I sometimes worry Maisey - 20 cats is fine if they all get the vetinary care they need but if you are delaying essential care like kitten vaccinations and spaying, not to mention having to save up to get this poor fella dematted, it starts to ring alarm bells.

I'm sure the cats are in a much better position no wthan if you hadn't stepped in, but what about the next cat? And the next 20 cats. I say this with all due respect & much affection, but there is a fine line between rescue and hording. Please don't take on too much xx

I have to say I agree with StressMonkey. Now I have 3 cats I often think about having some more, which is strange because I was perfectly happy when I just had my Tabitha, but part of me is wanting to help all those unwanted cats out there. Part of me is still looking for a replica of Tabitha However, practically and financially, as well as for the good of my present cats, it would not be sensible for me to take on any more because there will always be cats looking for homes, no matter how many I take on.

It's more important to provide the right environment for the cats I do have, They have space, freedom and good relationships with each other. I can afford to feed them good food, vaccinate, flea and worm them, they are all insured etc - but I still have money for myself and my cats haven't taken over my life though they contribute greatly to my enjoyment of life.

20+ cats is surely too many despite good intentions and a kind heart. I can't imagine that the cats themselves would be that happy living in a group that large.

I hope this doesn't come across as too critical. I suppose it's just so alien to my own home life and I just can't imagine living with all those cats.
