Lovefilm pay per view streaming

I was looking at the reason why Lovefilm charge extra for some movies when streaming. On their website it says the film studios dictate which movies can be supplied on a pay per view basis. I understand this for new movies like Harry Potter and Hangover 2, but I don't understand it for old movies like Lethal Weapon and Seven. Even Miss Congeniality 2 is in the pay per view section. I can't see the film studios dictating these older movies on a pay per view basis. Looks to me lovefilm are ripping us off.
