Like the title says.
I really cannot stand them. Even if I were closer in age to their target audience I'd feel the same. And they are everywhere. And they are terrible on stuff like Red or Black and Dancing On Ice. I can't wait until the One Direction craze is over. I don't think even Justin Beiber is as annoying as they are at the moment and that's saying something. |

I like them, but most of this forum would probably agree with you.
You can't please them all! But I don't see the craze ending anytime soon, as it's an international craze now

To each their own!
![]() My biggest issue is how they're practically inescapeable at the moment. Seems like they're being name dropped or making an apperance of some sort every time I put the TV on. |

The most annoying thing is I'm not sure if they can harmonise. Saw their performance on Dancing On Ice and they seemed to just sing it in unisons.

musically they don't register with me but i have noticed their ubiquity begin to annoy people. All i used to see on forums & twitter etc was styuff like "they seem like nice boys good luck to em" now it's more like "get these talentless munchkins off ma telly!
"* i'm hoping(but not really expecting) death by overexposure ![]() they don't really offend me tbh but they're essentially a pastiche of the monkees, who were a pastiche of the Beatles so were at least twice removed from reality

I am pretty fond of them actually. I have a bit of a soft spot for most of the 2010 crowd that made it to the live shows. I think you have to balance out the relatively average talent levels to the great look and chemistry they have. I think I have heard talk of them getting their own show on Nickelodeon and if it is based on The Monkees show then I think it would be a great show - the boys are fun and can produce good recorded music with studio help. I have never seen a live performance yet that will make me think that they are musically gifted, but I don't think boybands necessarily have to be. As long as they get the fans hearts fluttering then they will get a few years of money making. I don't see them ever being a Take That in terms of longevity because there is no one in the band as gifted as Gary Barlow.

The fans for their demograph don't care who wrote the song as long as the lyrics mean something to them Check out the video I have linked above for the harmonies and singing acappella. Sure they not on a par with Matt and Rebecca's vocals but they have come on a very long way since X Factor |

Most of them couldn't sing because the backing track was louder than them & at least 3 of them were book ends & next to useless. I sincerely hope they've improved as a group because I really despair if they're making a fortune with little or no talent to speak of. |

I think it's inevitable that their over-exposure will begin to annoy people. Especially since any success they have is based on pure hype and no real talent.
I haven't seen them give a decent live tv performance yet. Careers based on aren't they cute or aren't they fit rarely have any longevity. Best to just grin & bear it as they probably won't be around for long, especially when Cowell gets bored and finds some new puppets. |

There no way like that and their chart progress shows that.
They may have their bad days which all acts have (ROB,DOI) but their only human and I know they have the voice within them and they have shown it on various occasions |

I like their album, and they have awesome b-sides! 'Na Na Na' and 'Another World' anyone?
But I can't stand seeing them on TV! And they're nothing special to look at either  |

But would it matter if they have no one as gifted as Barlow ?(which i actually don't agree he was) They have people writing for them and while they flying they have top song writers queueing up for them. Actually in the early days TT sang other writer's songs.

I was really thinking about the "man band" comeback, 5-10 years after splitting. Take That are the only ones to have been really successful - and it is down to having their own home grown song writer. Yes to start with they used other writers - but when the star begins to wane in favour of the next latest band, the best songs will go elsewhere unless they write their own. Gary Barlow wrote "A Million Love Songs" pre Take That (can't remember how young but he was something like 15). Most of their big tunes in the later part of their first time round career were GB's and everything in the comeback years has GB's stamp on it.

Now I think their looks are one of their biggest assets - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that I guess.
![]() But then, I'm a JLSter so the two bands are very different looks wise, and I could just be biased
