66 (60) Asha Alahan 3.01% (Round 1)

Regaining her position of last place, it's the first of Dev & Sunita's twins- Asha Alahan! Her coming last again is no surprise considering she's barely appeared in the last year and hasn't really done anything of note, only taking a small part in Aadi's golf storyline. Will Asha be able to improve on her bottom placing next year?

65 (N/A) Faye Windass 3.06% (Round 1)

Finishing just one place away from bottom and first of the newcomers, it's Anna's adopted daughter from hell- Faye Windass! Whilst I don't think she's the best character, I think there are worse character then Faye and she's actually appeared in it a lot more compared to some of the other kids, although she is pretty unpopular on DS. Her storylines have mostly included her relationship with Anna and her hate for Owen, resulting in her being smacked by him recently! What will 2012 bring her?

64 (58) Aadi Alahan 3.35% (Round 1)

Finishing in pretty much the same placing as last year, it's the second of Dev & Sunita's twins- Aadi Alahan! Like Asha, Aadi has barely appeared in the last year, however he had a few episodes at the forefront of the show where it was discovered that he was some sort of golf prodigy, however it seemed this storyline was just a mechanism for Dev & Sunita's arguments and the storyline's seemed to have fizzled out.

63 (59) Max Turner 3.49% (Round 1)

Next up and with a slight improvement in ranking, it's Max Turner! Despite not really doing or saying much, Max has had a pretty busy year and has been at the forefront of the show. Starting off living with Becky & Steve, social services found out that Becky payed for Max and he was put into foster care. Recently he's started living with his mum Kylie Platt and her husband David, things seem to be running smoothly but how long will that last for? I think Max is the cutest of the children, but he doesn't really do much and this place is probably deserved.

62 (N/A) Liam Connor Jr 3.50% (Round 1)

Next up is the child of Maria Connor, Liam Connor Jr! I'm kinda surprised Liam was actually ranked this high as I think out of all the children, he does the least. I don't think he's talked at all in the past year and hasn't been involved in any of the story lines and I'm kind of struggling of things to say about him, he's so unnoticeable that I seemingly forgot to include him in last year's countdown Will we see more of Liam in 2012?

61 (N/A) Kirsty Soames 4.92% (Round 1)

Finishing just outside of the top 60 and the first of the non-child characters to appear, it's Tyrone's new love interest Kirsty Soames. So far Kirsty's appeared to be a bit of a strange character, she has an obsession for Tyrone and a deep hatred for Tina which has proved to cause some problems. In a recent turn of events Kirsty turned out to be pregnant and is living with Tyrone, however it seems doubtful that the relationship will last as we've already seen some fractures. Will Kirsty still be here for next year's competition?

60 (43) Sean Tully 5.01% (Round 1)

Finishing 60th and with quite a large drop in ranking, it's DS's favourite barman- Sean Tully! I think Sean is possibly my least favourite character, I just find him so vile and annoying and pointless, and I cringe when he tries to do serious scenes. I think my dislike for Sean is based on my hatred of Antony Cotton, which has only been worsened since his recent appearance on IAC. In the past year we've seen Sean reunite with old flame Marcus Dent, and bond with his son Dylan. Will Sean become more popular in 2012?

59 (N/A) Paul Kershaw 5.20% (Round 1)

Finishing just outside the top 60, is Eileen's new fella Paul Kershaw. First appearing as one of the firemen at the tram crash, Paul has recently become a main character in the past few months. Most of his storylines have included his relationship with Eileen, and struggling with his wife's Alzheimer's. Paul is another character I dislike, I just find him really dull and totally not suited to Eileen, and I think this relationship is ruining Eileen. What will 2012 bring for Paul?

58 (N/A) Anne Foster 5.31% (Round 1)

Finishing at 58th is mother of Frank Foster, Anne Foster. Most of Anne's scenes have included her support of her son Frank after being accused of raping Carla Connor, and also coming to terms with the quite sudden death of her husband. I actually think the actress of Anne is really good, but the character's kind of unlikeable. However if rumours are anything to go by Anne could be taking quite a big role in 2012, and could possibly improve her ranking!

57 (50) Pam Hobsworth 5.36% (Round 1)

Finishing kind of around the same place as last year's, it's Bill Webster's love interest, Pam Hobsworth! I think Pam's quite a good character but barely appears. She didn't appear till September where she announced her plans to marry Bill, and came across quite unlikeable then with her attitude towards Kevin, she has since disappeared and I'm kind of surprised that she hasn't dropped in the rankings. Will the character improve in 2012?

56 (52) Amy Barlow 5.76% (Round 1)

Finishing at 56th it's the daughter of Tracy & Steve, Amy Barlow! I think Amy's one of the better child characters and the actress who plays her is pretty decent. As Steve & Tracy's relationship has been at the forefront of the show in 2012, so has Amy. She has good relationships with both her parents and seems very eager for them to get back together, although sadly for her that looks quite unlikely. Will Amy be able to improve her ranking next year?

55 (44) Bill Webster 5.89% (Round 1)

Next up is another character who's taken a drop in rankings, Bill Webster. Like Pam, Bill's appearance in the past year have been very regular, returning in september to announce his plans to marry Pam, and suffering a heart attack after the stress of Pam & Kevin's conflict. I think Kevin's an alright character but doesn't really have much of an impression on me, and has sort of disappeared from the soap since his heart attack.

54 (N/A) Matt Carter 6.09% (Round 1)

At 54 is the street's resident doctor, Matt Carter. Matt has appeared more at the forefront of the show with his relationship with Tina McIntyre, however they have since broken up and the relationship failed to bring out more personality in Matt's character. Matt has also had unfrequent appearances with character's medical dramas, most recently after Becky stole Tracy's files from the surgery. Will Matt appear more in 2012?

53 (N/A) Brian Packham 6.10% (Round 1)

At 53rd is the man who strangely seems to be the only teacher in Weatherfield, Brian Packham. Brian reappeared this year taking a role in the John Stape drama, and seemingly has changed from being a secondary school teach to a primary school teacher with no explanation. Brian has recently hooked up with old flame Julie Carp, and will soon celebrate the birth of his first child! Brian's another character who I'm not too fond of, I just find him annoying and weird and prefer Julie without him

52 (N/A) Beth 6.14% (Round 1)

At 52 we have gobby newcomer, Beth! After appearing in one episode in the summer of 2011, where she went on a date with old flame Steve McDonald, Beth has returned to the street as a machinist and has certainly made an impression! Little is know about Beth and her surname hasn't even been revealed yet, but she seems set to become a big character. I actually love Beth, I find her hilarious and I hope she stays and has an increase in ranking next year!

51 (N/A) Amber Kalirai 6.24% (Round 1)

Just outside the top 50 we have Amber Kalirai! Amber's return has been a bit weird, she came back to live on the street after being kicked out of university and soon made friends with Sophie Webster, however Sophie soon began to grow feelings for her which made for some complications in her relationship with Sian, and ultimately ended it. Amber seemed kind of unlikeable in the storyline and it doesn't seem there's much more that she can do on the show, I seem to remember her last stint being more succesful.

Excited to see who wins! My faourites are Deirdre, Gail and Leanne!

50 (45) Chesney Brown 6.55% (Round 1)

At 50 we have Chesney Brown! Despite appearing quite alot recently his ranking doesn't seem to have changed that much. His storylines have included his relationship with Katy Armstrong, who he has recently had a baby with, and standing by his sister Fiz after she was wrongly accused of murder, and also being kept hostage by John Stape! I think Chesney's a good character but the characters transition from childhood to adulthood hasn't been that succesful, will his ranking improve next year?

49 (54) Dev Alahan 6.57% (Round 1)

Finishing just above the top 50 is Dev Alahan! Dev's another character I strongly dislike and it annoys me that he's had a rise in ranking He hasn't done a whole lot in the past year apart from struggling with financial pressure and fractures in his marriage with Sunita and just generally be annoying, will 2012 see an improvement in the character?

48 (N/A) Eva Price 6.96% (Round 1)

Next up is another of the new characters, Eva Price. The daughter of new landlady Stella Price, Eva had a promising start but hasn't done a whole lot I don't think. Her main storylines have included her working at the bistro and her relationship with Nick Tilsley, will she feature more in 2012?
