31 (12) Rosie Webster 9.70% (Round 1)

Next up and the last character to miss out the top 30, is recently departed character Rosie Webster. She's taken a pretty big fall in the ranking this year after being close to making the top 10 last year, I'm not sure why- I think it may be due to the fact that the viewers have just got a little tiresome of Rosie and maybe a break will do her good. Most of her storylines have included her trying to make it big in the modelling world and she also played a small part in the John Stape sage, she left to join a reality tv show, but is it the last we've seen of Rosie?

Next up is the returning 60s character, Dennis Tanner. I was actually really disappointed that Dennis didn't make the top 30, I thought he deserved to and I thought he definitely would. Starting off as a tramp at a shelter that Sophie & Sian worked in, Dennis has got his life on the right track and has miraculously changed from his tramp days. He's had mostly mini storylines and been included in the brilliant scenes with the rest of the older characters, but reports suggest he could be taking quite a big role in 2012?”

I'm quite happy with his rating actually, bearing in mind that he hasn't been given a lot to do, his ranking is better than I expected it to be. I do like Dennis and wish they would give him more to do. I wish they would dig up something from his past that needs resolving............

30 (18) Jason Grimshaw 10.65% (Round 2)

Just making the top 30 and with a drop in rankings, it's Jason Grimshaw. 2011 has mostly featured Jason taking a part in Rosie's storylines, as well as looking out for his mum in her new relationship. Now Rosie's gone, Jason's one of the characters who it doesn't seem like there's much going for him in terms of the show, but will he pick up in 2012?

29 (23) Tina McIntyre 10.73% (Round 2)

Next up with a pretty similar ranking to last year, it's Tina McIntyre. 2011 has seen Tina break up with Graeme after that awful visa storyline, and recently have relationships with Matt Carter and Tommy Duckworth. She has also began a feud with new enemy Kirsty Soames, which I actually find hilarious to watch. I think Tina's a really good character and this is probably around the right ranking for her, what will 2012 bring for her?

28 (37) Kevin Webster 11.22% (Round 2)

Next up we have Kevin Webster! Kevin has had a small rise in ranking this year, I think that's probably due to the fact that he was unpopular this time last year due to the molvin affair. 2011 has mostly seen Kevin come to terms with the breakdown of his marriage and new child, whilst trying to get back with Sally, but will he prove succesful in 2012?

27 (33) Maria Connor 12.31% (Round 2)

In 27th place and with a slight rise, we have Maria Connor. I think Maria's a good character but slightly underused. In 2011 we've seen Maria involved in a sexual assault storyline with Frank Foster, however that storyline changed to being about Carla and she's now taking more of a supporting role in it, will Maria take a bigger role in 2012?

26 (29) Emily Bishop 12.79% (Round 2)

At pretty much the same placing as last year, we have one of the longest standing characters, Emily Bishop. Emily hasn't really had any storylines in the past characters and is the less central of the old characters, her scenes have mostly included being in the background of scenes and has recently involved getting into a tiff with Rita about christmas dinner, and attending Tracy Barlow's hen night. I think Emily is a great character, will she be featured more in 2012?

25 (N/A) Stella Price 13.31% (Round 2)

Up next and one of the higher of the new characters, it's new rovers landlady Stella Price! To be honest I think Stella's way too low as I think she's a great addition and I was hoping she'd make the top 15, I think her placing is mostly due to her being in a very strong heat. Her main storyline has been the reveal that she is infact Leanne's mother, which was the secret that brought her to the street, however she has since settled in and maintained a good relationship with Leanne. I have a feeling she'll be at the forefront of Corrie in 2012, and will improve her ranking next year

15-02-2012
24 (21) Mary Taylor 14.09% (Round 2)

Next up and with a pretty similar ranking to last year, it's Mary Taylor! Mary is kind of a marmite character and some characters showed their dislike of her during voting, I personally find her hilarious though! In the past year we've seen her obsession with Norris continue and worsen, and has also taken part in small storylines such as the motorhome mystery and the music competition with Sylvia. Will Mary improve her ranking next year?
_NiallDEE_
15-02-2012
23 (24) Simon Barlow 14.34% (Round 2)

Next up and with a pretty similar ranking to last year, it's Simon Barlow. Simon has the highest ranking of all the child characters by far, which is fitting as he is definitely the one who appears the most. The past year has been pretty busy for Simon and he has been at the centre of Peter and Leanne's troubles, after almost losing Leanne after her affair with Nick at the beginning of 2011, Simon was devestated when he actually did loose her after Peter chose Carla over Leanne, Simon has since definitely not reacted well to Carla, what will 2012 bring for Simon?

Gonna take a bit of a break now, will hopefully get number 22-16 done later tonight, 15-11 tomorrow morning and the top 10 throughout the day tomorrow

15-02-2012
22 (34) Ken Barlow 14.74% (Round 2)

Next up is the longest standing character in UK soaps, it's Ken Barlow! Ken has had a rise in ranking this year as he surprisingly didn't manage to make the top 30 last year. The title of soap's longest standing character is enough to keep Ken going as he doesn't do a whole lot on the show, and is now more of a supporting character in Tracy and Peter's storylines, although he did have a pottery storyline with Deirdre which was pretty funny, will Ken be featured more in 2012?

21 (19) Gary Windass 15.01% (Round 2)

Finishing just outside the top 20 and with a pretty similar ranking to last year, it's Gary Windass. Gary's storylines this year have included him coming to terms with his war problems, and also his relationship with Izzy which almost came abusive at one point. I think Gary's a good character and one of the solid male characters in the soap, will he be able to regain his ranking next year?

Thank you, I was thinking of just revealing the results in one post but I think this is a better and more suspenseful way of doing it
