It might just be a name change?

Amazon already owns Lovefilm, all that will happen is that the branding will change.

Exactly - look at the website and you will see under Lovefilm it says 'an Amazon company'

On my Bravia device the US have Amazon Instant Video so perhaps that's what Lovefilm could change to.

Re branding to Amazon will defiantly take place at some time. I think that we all knew that when Amazon took over that changes wouldn't be far behind. Amazon are well known worldwide and will have greater purchasing power when bidding for more content.
Amazon Instant Video is popular in the US and the purchase of Lovefilm is ideal to launch Amazon Instant Video here in the UK.

Also, Amazon Instant Video and Amazon Prime have HD content.

Amazon Instant Video v Netflix, that will be interesting.

Could be interesting year ahead on the IPTV. Also seen that Hulu is looking to launch in Germany. It was thinking about the UK before but shelved its plans. Maybe now we have Roku here it will think again about UK launch.

Hulu was planning on launching in the UK and Ireland in September 2009, but as of April 2010 these had been abandoned for the foreseeable future after failure to sign any content deals. In July 2010

Good year for BT Infinity unlimited option then, even with the limited iptv I use today I'm struggling on the limit of their 40Gb service

I think the problem for Hulu was that they were late to the UK, by the time they looked at launching we already had the catchup services from the major broadcasters well and truly entrenched, YouView had been announced (although it still hasn't launched) and most of the catchup services had also been made available via YouTube in the UK, a lot was available via services like Blinkbox too. The broadcasters were undoubtedly reluctant to sign deals with yet another IPTV service when there were already several available. In the US Hulu dominates IPTV services for non films, but here in the UK there is/was much more competition.

I'm not sure that re-branding is inevitable e.g. Audible is also an Amazon brand. In both cases I think they're better names for the Amazon services.

Got to love the 'sheepish' headlines.

Those guys who leave are no doubt the usual fat cats who wisely sold out.
They usually stay for a bedding in period before departing to enjoy their cash hoard.
