Samsung Galaxy S2 or Iphone 4?
Due an upgrade on my mobile phone contract next week and looking at either the samsung galaxy s2 or iphone 4. Which is the best? I like to use the internet, play games etc on phones, but not into the facebook nonsense. Only thing is I'm not overly keen on itunes for music, so would the galaxy be preferable?

Essentially, there's no such thing as a best phone, there's best FOR YOU. Your opinion will differ from the next person and the person after that.
From the tiny amount of information you've provided, both phones will do all those things equally well. It's simply down to what you might prefer. These threads almost always end up in some kind of argument, so to simplify matters, I'll simply say go to the shop and play with them both and see which you like best!

I would say they're equal, except - the iPhone 4 has a silky smooth user interface, far more apps and a premium feel.
The Galaxy S2 has a removable battery, expandable memory, a normal sim card and uses a more customisable operating system. |

They're both premium phones. Each have pros and cons in hardware and software, but are rarely deal killing issues for most folk. Quite simply which is best for you comes down to which you prefer using.

The iPhone 4 has a better screen than the one on the 4s so for those not needing games but wanting an Apple product it can be a decent choice.
I imagine the 4 does not have the option for 2G removed so again the 4 can give better battery life. |

I imagine the 4 does not have the option for 2G removed so again the 4 can give better battery life. The removal of the 3G option was an OS 5 thing, so it'll affect both phones, but sites are reporting that will reappear in 5.1 because customers have complained about its removal. HOWEVER, still doesn't change the advice to the OP, which is go to a shop, try them both out, see which one you like best! |

I'll probably go with the Galaxy. ) especially with Jellybean now rumoured The Nexus may get Jellybean before the SG2 gets ICS ..... (although i doubt that the Jellybean rumours are true)(just to really help with your decision making )

If you want it for internet and gaming, get the one with the bigger screen. Surfing and gaming on a bigger screen is far better than on a smaller screen.
Also at the end of the month is the MWC. I would wait till after the MWC before upgrading. There is going to be some very nice phones unveiled. Unfortuantly you will have to wait a bit longer for the samsung galaxy 3....possibly late Q2 of this year. |

I've just got the Nokia Lumia 800 (also got an IPhone 4S which is up for grabs if anyone wants to make me an offer, on o2) and I think that it's a fabulous piece of kit.
