The strings should be EADGBE from your chin down.

I think you need to look for beginner guitar lessons on youtube.

Are the frets 1234 etc all the way down the neck?

Yes the fret numbers are in order.

Here is a note of the notes on the first five frets:

Handy tip: The notes on fret 12 are the same as the open string. eg: Open E string = E. E string fret 12 = E

My husband is a pro guitarist and his simple advise is not to complicate it by worrying about the musical note notation side of things on the fretboard but instead buy a simple guitar tutor book preferably with a DVD which will show you the basics without having to worry about the notations side so much.
Once you understand the basics and train your fingers to use the fretboard correctly then the notations will come with experience.

Mastering the basic 4-6 chords is far more important then worrying about what note is what at various points on the fretboard

My old guitar teacher used to say this:

Some guy yonks ago worked this out so you don't have to worry about it!

Get some guitar tabs, just accept that that is how you play the chords, and have fun.

If you do need to worry about music theory, there will be plenty of books at your local library.

Here you go see if this, just click whatever chord you want and it shows you where to place your fingers

If you're new to music and the guitar, don't worry about notes.

There are 2 types of chord, Maj and Min (major and minor) everything else (7th, 9th etc) is just a colour, a way of making the chord different.

Learn the basic chords first. A Maj, A min, C Maj, D Maj, Dmin, E Maj, E min, G Maj

They are the easiest ones and will get you playing loads of songs.

If you see 6, 7, 9, 11 etc after a chord, ignore it for now and just play the basic chord.

Practice little and often so that your fingers don't become too sore, 5 mins at a time 3 or 4 times a day every day is great, 5 mins at a time once a day every day will do though
The rest will follow naturally

Tabs are very much some guy off the internet's idea of a song, and as such can sometimes be wildly, hopelessly wrong.

Sometimes they're accurate, but don't treat them as gospel.

Ultimate-guitar.com is your best bet for tabs/chords.

Thats a pretty vague question but open strings have already been mentioned above. To work out the other notes you count up from the open strings as follows:

From E on the bottom string, count up through E | F | F# | G | G# | A | A# | B | C | C# | D | D# and then back to E. You can use this sequence of notes on the other strings so from the B string its B | C | C# | D etc.

That's a bass tab, as it clearly states.

You sure you're not a troll?
