I have an ipod touch generation 2 running IOS 4.2 (the latest update that this device can run)
2/3 weeks ago I switched my modem off then on, and since then have been unable to play bbc iPlayer - it gives the message ' please access via wifi, this does not support 3G on this handset'. Of course my wifi is on and the iPod connects fine for everything else including youtube. It worked absolutely fine before. The modem off/on might be a co-incidence. I have tried everything I have found on various forums.
The BBC messageboards have the same problem noted in November 2008 when it appeared to be solved by the BBC doing something. I have contacted BBC 3 times, no luck.
I upgraded IOS from 3.2 to 4.2 I have switched off, deleted caches/history/bookmarks/etc, reset network, contacted AOL (no use except my internet is now slower!).
I took it to the Apple store and no luck there either, except that it did work on their wifi.
If anyone has any other ideas, please help. I'm considering buying another iPod because I really miss the iPlayer but am now worried that that might not work either.
