Food Magazine not full of recipes

I'm off work for the week so am in the mood to get a magazine for chilling out with.

However, I find most food magazines are basically just recipes, which, whilst being useful, aren't exactly reading material.

Just wondering if there were any good ones that anyone would recommend that have a bit more substance to them.

Some decent books out there but I don't buy magazines so hopefully someone else can help you, I like reading older books about cookery as they are quite fascinating insights in life in the past.

Food history books are more interesting.

I got a copy of this last year and it was very good. I would have kept buying it but I already bought some other books to get on with.

Also, it did cost £4. Not sure if that is an average price for mags these days.
