Music on Android - Samsung issue?
CaptnSpaulding

Just got my first Android phone which is the Galaxy Note and everything was going great until I just copied some albums over from my computer (organized by iTunes) to the phone.

I've gone to the 'music' app and opened by Album and all the tracks are in alphabetical order, and not by track numbers. If I go via Artists then the tracks are in the right order.

Any ideas?

Possibly a minor issue, but an annoying one nevertheless.

Apart from that, I think I'm getting along fine with it, and who ever complained it was too big!?

Ah love Samsung, Plunk a few Apple AAC / mp4 files on there to see what happens, you'll love it.

Haha let me guess, a huge HATE sign comes up?

I'm guessing it is a tag error which means I'll have to re-tag all my mp3s and stop using iTunes... or not bother with the phone and go back to my iPhone lol.

Samsung does not like apple music files, gives you the name of track if your lucky but no tag info

I get a "do you want to change this format" option when copying Apple files over to the S2.

Trouble is it converts them to crap quality 160kbps file.

They are mp3 files though, not bought from iTunes just organized by it. I don't get how it's fine under Artist but not under Albums. Strange lol

There are some Android Apps that allow you to continue to use itunes for syncing to your phone. my wife uses one and loves it. For me NOT using itunes was a bonus

Isyncr is the app you need.

I did hate iTunes, but fair play it has sped up slightly over the years and now opens nearly instantaneous.
Only reason I like it is because is sorts my albums and gathers album art very easily.

I'll certainly try these apps, thank you

Ok so I just spent the best part of 4 hours sorting out my mp3s using mediamonkey, which has rearranged all my music from iTunes, and guess what!?

IT'S STILL MESSED UP!!!!

I've tried syncing with WMP and just dragging and dropping albums on the phone and they still sort by alphabetical order under albums, but by track numbers under artists.

Sorted via albums;

Just got my SD Card finally (wont be shopping at mymemory again), stuck the same music on it and they ALL show up fine!!!

Wow... what a weight off my shoulder! Was really bugging me and made me have doubt over changing to Android, so glad it just seems to be a bug with the software on Samsung's part perhaps.
