I am nearing the end of The Photograph by Penelope Lively.

I've just been reading the discussion in the QAT about John's insecurities behind his good looks and maybe thinking he wasn't worthy of the adulation he received, as he saw it, for his looks alone, or that no one saw beyond the good looks. The Photograph is about just that.

I have posted this in the JJJAT and I know it's boring to post it here too but I need to have a vent and that was partly why we set up TS.

Although I talk about Josie in disparaging terms because she amuses me, some of the things her muckers do just make my blood boil.

I just read on the JJJAT that Josie is going to have a go at burlesque dancing - don't know where this has come from, don't even know if it is true - because as usual Josie is supposed to be doing so many things and was supposed to have done so many things in the past that have never come to pass. But one of the times in the JJJAT that really made me cross was the discussion of Sherrie as a burlesque dancer as if she was some kind of prostitute for doing it. I'm not saying anyone said this openly on the JJJAT but it was certainly implied and I think it was said on twitter. Now apparently those very same muckers who derided Sherrie for her chosen profession are praising Josie for having a go at the same thing. I've been quite calm recently but this has made me angry and I remember being very angry on the JJJAT at the time.

And I am not suggesting those comments had anything to do with Josie - tempting though it might be, considering the close relationship between Josie and her muckers.

Speaking of not knowing what is said is true and going back to the story about Adele taking a 5-year break, I heard that Adele had said this as a joke in her Vogue interview but they took it seriously! Apparently her response to what they wrote was 'A 5-day break, more like!'

Don't know, Nat. Is she in a wheelchair? I think there was a picture of her in one but presumably she's getting around on her crutches most of the time - when Luke isn't carrying her

I don't understand why her 'friends', including Luke, take delight in posting picture of Josie drunk. I think I'm living in an alternative universe sometimes where frequently being very drunk is somehow a 'good fun thing'.

Being drunk among friends can be a good thing sometimes I was more then once but we had a saying what happens here stays here and would someone post a picture off me in that state somewhere he would not be my friend anymore or boyfriend for that mather.

I saw her in the wheelchair and i thought to myself that that is a bit overbord. My mum has broken her leg 3 times had a hip replacement and cervical vertebrae put together with steel was always only on crutches. No wheelchair!

Maybe it was for when she was drunk! I honestly haven't a clue, Nat. But I agree about her not needing a wheelchair. Luke likes looking after her though, it seems, so if that's what he wants to do, push her around in a wheelchair - that's his prerogative. Although he must be so busy working, I'm sure she has to manage without him during the day.

It's things like this that stopped me even talking about Josie and John James.

I admit I was guilty of being very defensive at times on the JJJAT to people who just came in to stir and when I look back I probably defended certain things for the sake of keeping the peace

To be 100% honest I tried to support them equally but I did connect more with John James .... funny that alot of people on the thread seemed to assume that I was a Josie only supporter really

Guilty as charged. Naughty Kay, slap on the wrist, don't generalise. It doesn't matter if other people do it, but you have to remember, you are not allowed to. Do you want me to name names? I said it was people on twitter, and there were ex JJJATers who mainly said it. And there were a lot of comments along those lines in the JJJAT - and I can't remember who said it. But it was certainly implied. I do remember that well enough because I put up posts at the time, as did Ali and maybe you as well, pointing out that burlesque dancing was a fully recognised important part of the dance repertoire. They haven't got round to doing it on Strictly yet, but they certainly do it on some perfectly respectable dance programmes. And I certainly remember that some of the most disgusting comments came from ex-JJJATers who I'd met and who I thought were above that kind of nasty crap.

Kay, I'm not talking about what burlesque is or about the fact that many frowned about the fact that John could be dating a person of that line of work. I remember it.....

I was just pointing out how easily you blamed aaaaaal muckers of being the ones who slagged her off for it, but apparently those same people are now thinking it's great if Josie does it.... So, I just asked are they really?

My reply was not about Josie, not about Sherrie, not about burlesque........

I was just pointing out how easy it is to generalize and group them all together and put the blame. Just like Josie was ripped to pieces, yet again, for making that comment about JJJAT........

So, as you just did it too.... generalize I mean, you see how easy it is? I'm sure some are not contradicting themselves, but you can't blame just muckers for doing it, or the whole JJJAT for doing it. Cause there are many muckers and many JJJATers who didn't say anything about back then
