You should have iOS5 on your iPhone already. It's nothing to do with any new iPad launch. Apple's website tells you what iOS5 has

You already have iOS 5. The iPhone 4S shipped with iOS 5.0 pre-installed.

iOS 5.01 was released a while ago - i assume you already have this too, unless you ignore upgrade notifications.

I assume you are talking about iOS 5.1, which is rumoured to be released at the same time as the rumoured iPad 3.

The 3G on / off toggle returns, there are some bug fixes and there are some API changes to make certain things a little easier for developers.

Based on beta 3 which was released to developers in January, 5.1 is not going to be a major feature release.

Since you seem to have missed the subtlety in chenks' post I'll clarify; It's iOS not ISO.

It's not there for the 4S.

The 4S has never had this option, however the option now exists in the beta of iOS 5.1

edit: Matt beat me to it!

Retrospectively I realise that 'returns' wasn't the clearest way of describing it, but I meant that all 3G capable iPhones will now have the option.

Ahh right it was the "returns" that confused me lol

Seems odd that Apple didn't include it in the 4S but then I don't have Siri on my 4 as apparenty it needs the audio clearing functionality of the A5.... Which then doesn't explain why my iPad 2 doesn't have it...

Rant over

because the iPad2 came out before Siri launched.

Siri will be a "feature" of iPad3

Fingers crossed it will bring Siri uk location information/services. So that we will be able to ask Siri for local uk information.

I would also like to be able to choose between the female and the male voice.

I wouldn't be surprised if Siri will be allowed to use voice commands like 'Turn WiFi on' etc at some point soon, too.
