I'd like Atlantic but its shows don't outweigh the need for a fugly dish and only having two tuners.

I agree about the ugly dish but I prefer Sky with two tuners that can pad and not cut off programmes that ru late than three tuners that can't but I am not saying Sky is better, different things for different tastes :-)

Think Atlantic is worth getting if only for Aaron Sorkin's wonderful Newsroom.

It seems pretty clear Atlantic isn't appearing on cable anytime soon, if ever.
I agree with that would rather see more HD channels to watch the stations i watch most.
Animal Planet HD
History HD
Nat Geo Wild HD
Then Possibly The ITV HD Channels.

Indeed, History HD is another of my favourites even if I sometimes struggle to understand how they define a 'history' programme!

But still can't cope with programmes shown late (read that in the Family Guy thread that a recent episode was cut off on TiVo)

That's BBC3 and they're miles out with their time for Family Guy.

For anyone who would like to see season 1 of Smash , it's being shown again on Sky Living.

Starts on the 20th August at 10pm according to the TiVo EPG.

Sky Atlantic can stick it where the sun don't shine!

With these new shows on Sky Atlantic like The Newsroom, 2,000 years of British History isn't it time for Virgin to carry this channel?

The Newsroom latest viewing figures 254k
http://www.barb.co.uk/report/weekly-top-programmes?

Even if Sky Atlantic was on Virgin Media IMO it would still not get more than 400k

and then compare that with Sinbad latest viewing figures on Sky 1 , 1.153 million.

Veep is even worse , latest viewing figures are 131k

So if Sky are asking a over inflated price for Sky Atlantic then is not worth that price going by the viewing figures.

Just goes to show viewing figures aren't always representative of quality as Sinbad is average at best in my opinion.

Interesting that they are re running this on a channel that VM users can get. Let's hope that they do it with more shows.

VM really do need to get Atlantic, especially as Sky have put a couple of their 2012/2013 season US drama aquisitions on Atlantic. There looks to be soome really interesting dramas on Atlantic, and it's frustrating that we can't get to see them.

No platform outside Sky has Sky Atlantic. UPC (Ireland) No. Smallworld (UK) No. TalkTalk (UK) No. VM (UK) No. Looks like it's a difficult channel to get hold of for other platforms.

Sadly, we all know that. That doesn't mean that it will never appear on other platforms.
