Kirsty Coronation St Schizophrenic storyline?
Hi guys, been watching Kirsty closely over the last few weeks, and I see very obvious signs of Schizophrenia. My mother inherited the disease and the way she acts is very simular to Kirsty. My mother gets all evil and paranoid just as she is about to have an 'episode' that will send her into total melt down where she'll start hitting my dad and accussing him of sleeping with every woman in the street. In fact what eventually triggers these episodes is my mothers paranoid thoughts in every day life about who my dad is speaking too and what they're doing.
My dad is the most kindest man you will meet and has stuck by my mother for nearly 30 years, both in mid 40's now. I hav asked him why he has, an he said my mother cannot help it, but if her schizophrenia was illegal drug induced he would had left her long ago.My mother hasnt done drugs, smoked or drank. I can see a storyline here for Tyrone and Kirsty. I think Emmerdale had a schizophrenia storyline, but Coronation St's could be a real eye opener. |

Also, my mother cut both of them off from they're freinds like i think Kirsty is doing with Tyrone. The facial expressions and the eye bulge of Kirsty is very real with schizophrenia. My mother is doing much better these days with the meds she now takes. I hope if this storyline was to go ahead, there would be a happy ending where Kirsty eventually seeks treatment, if not by force, and tyrone and Kirsty can live long life together like Jack and Vera. It would be interesting also if the script writers write about thd stigma atrached to schizophrenia, and how the neighbours act. Our neighbours have been awful in the past, behind mums back though.

I don't watch corrie but it wouls be interesting if this happened. However it could possibly be compared to Joe Wicks' schizophrenia in EastEnders back in 1996-1997. But yeah that would be interesting

I think it could be an excellent storyline, Jenkins. Kirsty's behaviour obviously runs much deeper than her being a controlling bitch, so I hope the writers do develop it. That said,
Spoiler

I'd actually like Corrie to cover a domestic abuse plot with Tyrone been the victim.
