Someone on the music thread said Leona was listed on the show "Queens of British Pop" I'm happy she got the recognition XD

I am hoping her album will be a more happy, vocal, varied genre wise version of 21.... But completely different. by 21 I mean lyrically, the album cannot be beaten. And there is a lot of variation in the album. Even if they are all ballads.
I mean for example, rolling in the deep, someone like you, rumour has it... They are all very different and unique.

Well those rappers most likely aren't going to want Leona if they can have Rihanna and other big artists on their records.

But is anyone surprised that Leona has never done this? In particular when she was the best-selling new artist of 2008 (I think). Besides David Guetta do you think there was ever any artists that wanted to duet with Leona and any talks about it.

Lil' Wayne was happy to duet with Leona at the VMA 2008 when he could have had Rihanna etc then....

She has a unique voice like Skylar Grey, Hayley from Paramore....Leona could easily feature on a track and people would want her because she has those amazing vocals...I reckon David Guetta must have tried to bag her at one point....

I'm not sure about other artists, but I'm sure will.i.am has also tried to collaborate with her....she's an in demand artist because she's a one of a kind vocalist...plus she has more scope for appeal than say Adele who can only do ballads....LeLe could easily feature on a mid/uptempo track....

It's a shame Syco keep her in a little box...if they'd capitalised on the Spirit era and did more collaborations and put her out there even more she could have been even bigger...

I think if Leona just talked/had her management talk to one of those rappers management, they could get her on a song. Nicki said she loves Leona, I'm sure she'd be willing to have Leona on one of her songs. Plus not all artists are about popularity, I've seen songs that rappers/artists have done that feature either a new artist or a not-so-popular artist.

I think that this is what is needed though. If she stays silent the whole time, then GH won't have an easy time selling except for the die hard fans. It would be nice to see her make a good song with another artist, she's never had that many collaborations on her albums or on others.

I think a female duet would be good....I didn't really like her duet with Jennifer Hudson....I think the trouble is, the other female singer would have to be really really good too or they would just be overpowered by Leona like Avril was.....

I think that a Hate That I Love You/Takin Back My Love style duet with Usher/Ne-Yo/Enrique/Bruno Mars could work really well too....

That's what I had in my mind. The only thing I don't want is Leona with throwaway songs. I don't like that, she's too good for that kind of stuff. Part of me thought, she could get on a track with Flo Rida but no that's too generic (not trying to be snobby I like his songs but they're throwaway)

I agree though the problem with Leona is because she has that distinctive huge voice, she does overshadow a lot of artists. She duetted with a girl on X Factor in another country and she completly stomped her I think ne-yo is a fantastic songwriter that Leona would do well working with. There is a song I'd have loved to be Leona's because it's dark and twisted and something different for her and that is Russian Roulette by Rihanna. Vocally slaaayed!

Lol....the funniest video is when she went on X Factor Germany and she was so amazing that one of the female judges had a face like she'd been slapped by a wet fish...

I agree, Leona should never be singing about parties/clubs etc....her voice is too special for that and let's keep it real here, she isn't a sl*t either so it would be totally wrong of her to duet with someone like Flo-Rida....I could definitely see her with Nicki or Drake, plus Bruno Mars would be great for her to duet with. Alexandra has an amazing duet with him and he's an excellent song writer....it could be a hit...

I also think a track like Rihanna's Photographs with will.i.am would have suited Leona a lot...I hope she shows a different side to herself with this album and judging by some of the previews/reviews she is, though Love Birds is a step backwards imo.

Leona really could sing anything, I listen to a song and think ... Leona would be #1 with this. Damn you could have endless possibility if people would give leona a chance. I could hear Leona doing Fly with Nicki instead of Rihanna.

Leona needs to work with more songwriting artists I think. Bruno, Ne-Yo, I think even someone like P!nk could write an edgy song with her. We all know P!nk is great with lyrics and she can write a song for every emotion. I know he seems like the guy everyone wants to sing on, but I really wanna hear Leona with David Guetta. It could churn another Titanium-eque song out/

I'm not against Love Birds, but it is definitely not single material. If it is on the album, I'd prefer it to be an itunes bonus track. It just reminds me of a song for someone like taylor Swift or Colbie Caillat. I guess it would sound better if it was the studio version that leaked, but I just feel it's too "cute" for Leona haha

This article is cool. I from it on the American website aol.com. It mentions Halo being passed from Leona to Beyonce. At least Leona looks stunning in the picture.

I've just been watching the video for 'Happy' again. I thought it was a little dull, but re-watching it again I like it more. I think Leona is actually quite a good actress. She plays the part in it so well. Only one thing I wanted to say on the matter of the video, but at 1.48 the... you know.. cleavage, is very impressive. I'm not saying she has had them pumped up, but they don't look like that in the rest of the video or in photo's. Maybe it's the lighting but they look WOW there I wish Happy had at least gone Top10 worldwide It's awesome.

As far as any rappers wanting to duet with Leona, I'm pretty sure back in 2008 P Diddy said that he wanted to collaborate with Leona on his new album. I don't think Leona ever replied to that though and obviously nothing ever came of it.

I think a lot of artists are scared to work with Leona now because they have the option of much bigger, well known artists. Vocally Leona can slay the likes of Rihanna but Rihanna is seen as cool and relevant, where as Leona is seen (by most) as boring and a ballad singer.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, I had noticed that this is one of those few places with an ongoing discussion about Leona Lewis (she's my favourite artist) and "Glassheart," so I happily made an account.

I figure I'll get right into it. I recently stumbled across this song "Trouble" on Professor Green's album, which naturally made me worried that Leona had given it away? The lyrics are different form what I've seen of the Leona version, and I know there have been recent tweets about its production so I'm not too worried, but I can't help but notice the Sandé's "Heaven"-like beat, which doesn't come around often. I think that's just a coincidence however the beat is quite similar as you said. We already know some of the lyrics so it's not the same.




I'm quite surprised how quiet it is recently, not even Leona or Nicola are mentioning anything album related.
I'm definitely finding it easier by keeping myself busy with other music, it's just a shame there is NOTHING to talk about lol

Emeli did take "mountains" off Leona ( wonder how she went about telling Leona) . It could be an amazing song and Emeli wanted it out there ASAP however this probably won't be the case as Dean Piper wouldn't have tweeted about it.

It's all just a big unknown guessing game for us all and has been since she said she was delaying the album. I feel rather starved and drained by the wait tbh :yawn:

Welcome. No don't worry that is another song altogether. Leona's 'Trouble' is produced by Naughty Boy, plus that PG song is more Drum n Bass than anything. Leona's 'Trouble' will sound different.

Leona's camp have been sitting on the song for too long, they should release the thing and be done with it. Also bring forward the album release to Summer while they are at it.

Okay thanks everyone! Once I listened to it several times it made sense that it wasn't the song. It definitely is funny though because based on timing of release and sound-wise it's a pretty decent doppelganger. But I do like the sound of it so at least it's a new song to listen to while I wait for "Glassheart."

With regards to "Mountains" though, although it would have been great for Leona (I can imagine them having built up the song a lot more, like "Run"), I'm actually glad Emeli ended up using it on her album. Since it's about her parents, it's such a personal song for her; I bought the CD and next to the lyrics is a large photo of them. It would have been a shame for a song like that to be used by another artist, as much as I love Leona.

I was just thinking about Leona and the Grammys and if they'll ever get her to perform. Maybe if she releases the lead single in summer, she might even be eligible for one next year

12. At times I find it euphoric. At others I think Leona's talent isn't utilized on tracks like Collide.
