Surely they won't put it at 9pm again? Thursday at 8pm could actually work quite well for it with an EE lead-in, providing a young skewing alternative to ITV's soaps. I bet it could get c4m there.

It's going to be quite exhausting if this game is played every week, or are week 2 episodes of TV & BGT both an hour, which could play out at 7pm & 8pm with no bother?”

I suspect they'll just be an hour, although The Voice will probably expand in a few weeks when the battle rounds begin (although with BGT still at an hour it still probably won't be too much of a problem).

They said at the end of the last series. And the ratings weren't that bad at all.

I'm looking forward to the newspaper stories for next year's Talent...

"I replaced David Walliams with Micky Flanagan to hurt C4."

Well it was going to be 7.15 so they have pushed it back a little. Not as much as they'd have liked admittedly, but a 20 minute overlap isn't too bad all things considered.

Completely. He'd been pushing for a junior version for a while, it's his pet project and is probably a condition of him staying with the main series. It doesn't deserve a 9pm slot though - it would work well early Saturday evening/Sunday teatime or pre-watershed during the week.

As for BGT/TV - not sure what's been achieved here really. Partial clash - was it really worth that bother?

I can't imagine Sugar agreeing to an off peak slot for Young Apprentice.

Maybe when it comes to scheduling power, Lord Sugar is the BBC equivilent of Simon Cowell!

The BBC Two figures are particularly interesting. I wouldn't expect Daily Politics to rate well, but I'm surprised at the 0.1-0.2m figures between 1pm and 3pm.

And, Alan Titchmarsh is still underperforming in what is surely the softest slot in the daytime line up.

ITV's plans have worked?

Do you mean they planned to give The Voice masses of extra publicity by faking a clash? The BBC doesnt need a PR department when ITV do the job for them.

Looks like the EE crisis is over!

Nothing much of interest in the rating last night. The big news today is that BGT and TV now have their slots confirmed. I don't know why ITV just didn't move BGT completely out of the way of the TV. The 20min clash will dent it, but it should hold up OK, and will probably pick up at least 500k on +1 I would have thought.

Yeah it does seem late. But with the BGT lead-in it should do fine.

Looks like Channel 5 may be losing one of the CSIs this year as CBS have renewed the bulk of their slate bar Rules of Engagement, Rob, Two and a Half Men (which I think is negiotations), CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. I reckon Miami will be renewed over NY although I would prefer if NY was renewed as it's the better show.

I think Channel 5 are preparing for a future without the CSI Franchise with shows like OUAT, Dallas, The Walking Dead etc reckon they should pick up Person of Interest and run it on Saturdays.

Another blunder by ITV, then. I expect BGT will come out ahead overall, but they've now opened themselves to the possibility that The Voice will win the 15 minute overlap. And you know what the press will report on the next day. Seems pointless to persist with the 15 minute overlap when they could have just switched BGT and Take Me Out.

At last an outbreak of common sense. What would ITV hope to gain by placing their biggest hit against The Voice, esp if BGT started badly and viewers switched over, and also The Voice needs fairly limited competition to see how it will fair. BGT is still the king of ITV LE and a good start with 10 million viewers means more money for shows like DA. A weakened and damaged BGT means the rest of ITV suffers.
I still reckon The Voice will do well, but not excellently, and should pull in 7 million a show. Still good for BBC One who are lacking you know Who this spring, which is their biggest hit on Saturdays in the spring.
Still keeping to my new year's resolution, but couldn't help noticing what was at the bottom of ITV1's ratings list for last night.

Am just surprised ITV arn't putting it before BGT, seems like a good anti-Voice show and tbh would fit well there.
Seems kind of stuck out in middle of nowhere, whilst JR is being pushed out the way.

Adverts for BGT start tonight (just before the football I believe). They are a tad different from the last few years. Focussing on "For Queen and Country": http://talent.itv.com/2012/news/vide...tem_200593.htm

If I was ITV, I would be promoting the date and time straight away on screen.....

Yup! I think they wanted to push Beeb to 6:45, so there hoping The Voice will be more hurt by the clash and shorten/move back. But as we saw with Strictly last here, this is not always the case - and because of how ITV have acted in the last few days - if the Beeb smell a hint of blood - they'll shift later.

(PS: The new BGT advert is ****ing brilliant - even if they should have cut the Queen at the end)

CBS Press Release

“
CBS ANNOUNCES RENEWALS FOR 18 PRIMETIME SHOWS FOR THE 2012-2013 SEASON

Renewals Showcase the Strength, Stability and Success of Television’s #1 Network

In a move that renews a large portion of television’s #1 primetime lineup, CBS announced today it has picked up 18 returning series for the 2012-2013 broadcast season.

The renewals include four comedies, nine dramas, three reality series and two newsmagazines. The returning shows encompass every night of the week and every hour, many of which are #1 in their time period and some #1 on the entire night.

The renewed comedies include the previously announced multi-year pickups of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory, the season’s #1 comedy and the first scripted program to top “American Idol” in viewers and adults 18-49; 2 Broke Girls, the season’s #1 new comedy in viewers and key demographics; and sophomore hit MIKE & Molly.

Also in comedy, CBS and Warner Bros. Television are in preliminary discussions regarding future seasons for Two and a Half Men.

Renewed dramas are NCIS, television’s #1 drama/scripted program for the third consecutive year; NCIS: LOS ANGELES, the #2 drama for the second straight year; Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, Person Of Interest, the #1 new series of the season, THE Mentalist, Blue Bloods and the award-winning and critically acclaimed THE Good Wife.

Among the Network’s returning reality series are THE Amazing Race, Undercover Boss and the previously renewed SURVIVOR.

Television’s top newsmagazines, 60 Minutes and 48 Hours Mystery, will also return in the fall.

“This large-scale renewal is testimony to the strength, stability and success of a deep and diverse roster of top-rated programming,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. “It positions us for continued success next season and certainly creates an environment that will give our new shows the best possible chance to succeed.”

Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (12.13m) and adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and a strong second in adults 18-49 (3.1/08). The Network is posting across-the-board year-to-year growth, up +1% in viewers, +2% in adults 25-54 and +3% in adults 18-49.”

What's missing?

CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Unforgettable, Rob and Rules of Engagement.

Only real surprise is The Good Wife which was on the bubble.

I spent £25m on an X Factor rip-off just to boost my ego as controller.

Funny how the X Factor haters, pizzaman and co are suddenly drooling over this rip-off. Maybe there indignation over all these past years wasnt really anything but envy?

Both CSI: NY and CSI: Miami gone?

Ouch. Obviously both were vulnerable and have been for two seasons now, but I thought they might give one of the two another shot at least. At least the writers of CSI: NY kind of knew they were on the way out. I'm told this season's finale will once again try to give some kind of closure in the event of that possibility.

For Channel 5 that means two major gaps in the 2013 schedule. I hope something good comes up at this year's Upfronts, they need it.
