Channel 5 Week 14 Programming Detailed
Due to air week commencing 31st March:
Once Upon a Time (Season 1) Part action fantasy, part dark contemporary drama, ‘Once Upon a Time’ is a clever twist on the fairytale genre by ‘Lost’ writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Conceptually daring and exceptionally cast, with high production values, stunning scenery and terrific special effects, this series looks set to become as big a hit as ‘Lost’. It topped the US Sunday night entertainment ratings and is up for this year’s People’s Choice Award for Favourite New TV Drama. Channel 5 is proud to present its UK premiere. Cowboy Traders (Series 1) The ‘Cowboy Builders’ team turn their attention to the nation’s rogue traders in this brand-new series. Dominic Littlewood and Melinda Messenger dole out justice to Britain’s worst shop owners and most unscrupulous rip-off merchants. This week, Dom and Melinda take on a bridal-shop owner with a long and chequered history and try to make a couple’s wedding dreams come true. ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ at the Royal Albert Hall Channel 5 presents a specially staged production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s modern masterpiece, performed at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2011. On 9th October 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical re-imagining of Gaston Leroux’s novel ‘Le Fantôme de l'Opéra’ staged its world premiere at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End. Since then, ‘Phantom’ has been seen by over 130 million people in 145 cities all over the world, from Taiwan to Argentina and Hong Kong to Hungary. It is the most successful entertainment project in history, having taken over $5 billion at the box office. Rory McGrath’s Pub Dig (Series 1) ‘Pub Dig’ is a new series in which Rory McGrath and biker/archaeologist Paul Blinkhorn root around beneath some of the country’s oldest boozers to reveal hundreds of years of British history. Pubs are where some of the juiciest bits of our island story happened: fighting, smuggling, plotting, carousing and fornicating. So even though they are just two blokes with a digger and a few helpers – and even though occasionally they get distracted by the temptations of the bar – they have turned up some truly remarkable finds: from a huge new Roman building in St Albans to a Neolithic hunting camp under the picnic tables in a Sussex beer-garden. Europa League Football: Quarter Finals Live coverage of the second leg of one of the Quarter Finals of this year’s Europa League. With Sporting Lisbon seeing off Manchester City in their Round of 16 match and Manchester United falling to Athletic Bilbao, English involvement in this year’s competition ended. But home interest should not wane. If the Premier League is to keep up with La Liga, which has the three most fancied teams in this competition as well as the two favourites in the Champions League, lessons must be learnt. With Bilbao, Valencia and Athletico Madrid playing technically astute, attractive football it is time for our big clubs to tune in and learn a thing or two. Move Highlight: Toy Story (1995) Classic Pixar animated fantasy in which a child’s toys come alive whenever he leaves the room. Woody is an endearing pullstring cowboy who is liked and looked up to by the other toys as their leader. When a new toy turns the other toys’ heads and becomes top toy in Andy’s affections, Woody is jealous of astronaut Buzz Lightyear and tries to get rid of him. But when both toys become lost, they must join forces to get back home before Andy moves house. With the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. Source: Channel 5 Press. |

Whether or not you agree with my regular witty and incisive comments on this forum, I hope everyone would agree I never "spew"!
![]() ![]() TBF I don't think it's nice for people to criticise individual posters in that way. God knows I disagree with a lot of what you post but to the best of my knowledge you've never been deliberately rude or insulting to anyone on this thread. I enjoy posting here and that's down to everyone who contributes. I would hate this thread to become nothing more than just numbers and stats - it's the lively discussions what make it what it is. |

Ratings:
- http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s127/...love-life.html - http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...-with-81m.html Also, if the ratings are not posted here in a tabular/listed format by mid afternoon can someone quickly post them? It's a tad annoying coming on here at 5pm and seeing no listed format posted... Dismal for Love Life, as I predicted. A victim of poor scheduling as well against the Masterchef finale. Poor for the soaps, more so the ITV soaps. Corrie deserved more for another powerful episode last night. |

![]() They are also repeating The Walking Dead Season 1 on 5* ahead of the new season, if that's of interest to anyone. At one episode a week, that would suggest S2 is starting in May. |

DS were later than usual to update as well so that might be another reason why they didn't get posted. |

US TV Ratings Thursday March 15
Led by American Idol Fox claimed a Thursday night victory but continuing the trend of the season Idol was down four tenths week-on-week. At 9PM a repeat of Touch performed well and that bodes well for its performance when it switches to originals. Fox's usually closest Thursday competition CBS was out of the game somewhat last night with NCAA Basketball replacing the usual schedule. Its numbers are subject to change. Elsewhere ABC's new drama Missing got over to a less than stellar but not disastrous start. That 2.0 is down a tenth on the debut of Charlie's Angels but that was against the weaker X Factor. We'll see how it holds in the weeks to come. At 9PM Grey's Anatomy fell a tenth to a series low whilst Private Practice was up a tenth vs. its last original. Over on NBC the 8PM hour saw an uplift presumably thanks to removal of CBS comedies from the equation. Community was up an incredibly impressive 46% vs. its last original episode in December and the second biggest show on NBC last night. 30 Rock was up six tenths vs. last weeks 8PM episode. The Office ended the upward momentum for the night dropping three tenths to a series low. Up All Night was even. At 10PM Awake seems to have stabilised it was even vs, last week. A mid-1 is probably enough to justify renewing a critically acclaimed award tipped drama. The CW was back in originals after three weeks. The Vampire Diaries was down two tenths and Secret Circle was even. ABC 8PM: Missing – 2.0 [10.56] 9PM: Grey's Anatomy – 3.0 [9.67] 10PM: Private Practice – 2.2 [7.00] CBS 8PM: NCAA Basketball – 1.7 [4.72] Fox 8PM: American Idol – 4.5 [15.52] 9PM: Touch [r] – 2.2 [8.67] NBC 8PM: Community – 2.2 [4.89] 8:30PM: 30 Rock – 2.0 [4.05] 9PM: The Office – 2.3 [4.88] 9:30PM: Up All Night – 1.7 [3.63] 10PM: Awake – 1.6 [5.05] The CW 8PM: The Vampire Diaries – 1.2 [2.62] 9PM: Secret Circle – 0.7 [1.62] |

I wonder if The Phantom of the Opera concert will serve as lead in for OUAT? I imagine it'll draw a decent audience but I'm convinced it'll be edited for time as a lot of concerts on TV are.
My fantasy schedule: 4.30pm Toy Story 6.20pm Phantom 9pm OUAT |

Not necessarily, when we're talking about a drama starring Emilia Foxy.

Trying to recall the ratings for an obscure series from 1987 can prove useful in bed though in the same way some folk try to remember the names of the 1966 World Cup squad or their 12 times table...

I think they should look as possibly stripping the last series of Downton in the 9pm slot - the only problem with that would be repeat fees.

As for moving it to Wednesday - Stephen Tomkinson has expeirence of the BBC doing that with Ballykissangel. It proved to be the last series. The BBC did it with Born and Bred too and killed that off as well.
