Not sure if these have been posted yet, but...
http://stvsales.tv/sitepix/pdf/March...ing_update.pdf NCIS will be on episode 7 then, so hopefully it'll have locked most of its viewers in. |

Okay, so they can't spell in this document, but no Midsomer Murders until mid-March is a pleasing development.

Surely that means there won't be any MM on STV, not that there won't be any on the rest of ITV1.

No full ratings list for Monday.
![]() I don't think we'll get those any more on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the previous source no longer has access. |

![]() NIghty night... ![]() Quote:
it looks pretty much the same as every other version of the Voice.
Maybe the BBC should just have aired the US version, and have Terry Wogan make snarky comments over it, as if it was Eurovision. Quote:
None of the judges appeal to me but I will give it a chance. It has worked everywhere else but I just get a bad feeling about this line up
Quote:
do Tom Jones fans know who Will.i.am is, and vice versa?
TBH Will.i.am seems better suited to X-Factor than The Voice. Lets face it most BBC viewers will think the BBC has misspelt his name, should it ever appear on a strap. Quote:
More than likely he will bring Cheryl Cole on at some stage to assist him (maybe to assist contestants with their vocal skills) since he is her manager now

One thing about this "The Voice", in no way does it appear to be the usual BBC demo it's aimed at.
It's youthful, but a bit of a parody of youthful. Like BBC3. Quote:
and that will just make it look even more like an X-Factor wannabe. Honestly the show needs to find its own niche (if at all possible) having former X-Factor judges on it, wont help.
Maybe Will.i.am & Cheryl Cole should set up there own talent show, the niche can be that its for people with confusingly spelt names, and people who assault night club attendants. Quote:
The mime artist Cheryl Cole assisting others with their vocal skills?!
Quote:
LOL
that is funny. The Voice looks good to me. I can honestly see it being a hit. You have Tom Jones for the oldies, then Jessie J attracting the younger crowd. |

Surely that's a good thing though. Pulling from a wider more diverse potential audience...
Although to be fair I could live without ever having to see Will.i.am on my television ever. He does seem like the weak link of this show at this stage. That said I just never really got the black eyed peas. Quote:
I personally think it needs clear daylight between themselves and The X Factor/Pop Idol. Having Will Young on would be a constant reminder of Pop Idol in my view.
Personally I would ban her from being talking about The Voice in the media, I would want her as far away from The Voice as is physically and legally possible. Ratings, nothing much to say really, Emmerdale doing well, EE and Corrie doing not so well, The Queen *snores* , shame for whitechapel. |

I guess, provided it doesnt seem too forced and ends up pleasing neither group.

Will Young can sing and as you say Charnham would be a better choice than Cheryl Cole. Also he would have made a good coach. The thing is that The Voice will already have comparisons with other singing talent shows and doesn't need more reminders like Will & Cheryl. Holly Willoughby presenting the show after working on The X Factor and Fame Academy is a presenting choice I would have stayed away from. Quote:

Corrie did well at 7.30pm with 9m viewers and then 8.5m an hour later isn't too bad. EastEnders should be closer to 9m if you ask me but Caroline Quentin's documentary is very popular. I'm enjoying Whitechapel but don't think ratings will ever be series 1 levels again unless there's another snow day. |

Corrie did do well, they got their normal 9m+ for both episodes. Those above ratings are wrong. DS have posted the real ones. EE didn't do so great they only did 8.4m.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/medi...life-channel-5 Cant wait to see this flop, Channel 5 is starting to make ITV 2 look like BBC 4. I'm really happy with the C5 schedule right now. The US drama lineup is probably as strong as its ever been with 2 hour blocks of new episodes running on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They've got a set of good performing 8pm factuals together at long last. 7pm is improving without the news. Some big film premieres / sporting events are coming up in the next few months. It's all trending in the right direction. ![]() The downmarket commissions only detract from the good stuff they are doing if you choose to let it do so. It's easily avoidable. If it was wall-to-wall crap a la ITV2 you might have a point. |

Well Robbie at least you're consistent with your opinion on The Voice.
![]() There must be a manual on how to do this show and printed on the first page it says..DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS! I heard BBC Three were looking at buying the US version. The chemistry of the coaches is key as much of the TV moments will depend on how they interact. Will.i.am isn't a singer though. ![]() The irony is it is not cheap, it has cost £25m and the loss of half an F1 season... |

My Social Network Stalker left a sour taste in the mouth though, there was something very off about the whole thing and I'm not alone in feeling this way. I can't help but feel True Stories was a higher quality strand when it was on More4. |

I doubt it will get a primetime slot on Channel 5 but we'll see. More likely to be filler on 5*.

Also Big Brother, could be described as "Wall to Wall" even more so if you include the likes of The Bachelor. Its a bit like saying that Really is the best channel ever in the history of TV, because it all of sudden airs Ace of Cakes, and you start to over look every other program it airs. |

lol well you know me and my insiders bible known as "Media Guardian"
Quote:
the problem is the wall to wall crap, is what its new to the channel, even new US drama, is simply a continuation on a theme. With Body of Proof failing and NCIS: LA on Sky One, Channel 5 will struggle to replace CSI, which is in effect the glue that has held its US drama together for over 10 years now.
And Body of Proof isn't failing, it's doing really rather well over here for a 'B list' import. However, its limp ratings in the U.S. mean it is a cert for cancellation this season. C5 will still presumably show the second next year. Finding a replacement for CSI won't be easy and isn't something that can be done overnight, have CBS yet either? C5 will be watching very closely to see what CBS does next. For now, it looks as though Vegas and perhaps one of the other two spinoffs will be recommissioned for another season in 2012/13. Quote:

Ah, therein lies the problem. They only report on the downmarket commissions that C5 make, nothing else. Ditto what they choose to review. Extremely biased publication and worth taking with a pinch of salt.
Quote:
Dallas and Once Upon a Time are anything but a "continuation on a theme." They are two very different drama commissions for Channel 5 that do not fit the usual crime drama mould.
fair enough about Once Up On A Time, but Dallas is by no means a sure thing.Quote:

but in the long (or even medium) run it cant replace anything.Quote:

CBS will find it alot easier to replace than Channel 5, who are at the mercy of channels like Sky, who can bid stupid amounts for any new shows they think will be good.Sky currently have NCIS: LA and Hawaii 5-0, building on those two wont be a problem for them. Bones and its spin-off are also very viable for them. Quote:
Not really, it only takes up 1 hour of 4 primetime hours most nights when it is on, 2 maximum if you include the reality commissions around it. All the other successful elements of the C5 schedule remain.
it has repeats daytime on Channel 5, and Bit On the Side also takes up time. Quote:
Hmm, I don't even understand what point you are trying to make here. Although I was surprised when Really started showing that as I thought it was a Food Network show.
I to was surprised to see it on Reallys EPG. Talking of Channel 5 and Ace of Cakes, Channel 5 should do a UK series, only minus Amy Childs. |
