Okay, so they can't spell in this document, but no Midsomer Murders until mid-March is a pleasing development.

NCIS will be on episode 7 then, so hopefully it'll have locked most of its viewers in.

Surely that means there won't be any MM on STV, not that there won't be any on the rest of ITV1.

Does NCIS have to worry about MM anyway from my point of view its Masterchef that it has to worry about.

I doubt ITV1 England will opt out of the football and there is a mixture of CL / national footie right the way up to the 21st March according to that.


NCIS always takes a hit opposite Midsomer, because they appeal to similar audiences and the latter gets a head start.

The chemistry of the coaches is key as much of the TV moments will depend on how they interact. Will.i.am isn't a singer though.

We won't know until we see it but it looks like BBC1 definitely want to appeal to younger audiences with this one.


I personally think it needs clear daylight between themselves and The X Factor/Pop Idol. Having Will Young on would be a constant reminder of Pop Idol in my view.

Personally I would ban her from being talking about The Voice in the media, I would want her as far away from The Voice as is physically and legally possible.

Ratings, nothing much to say really, Emmerdale doing well, EE and Corrie doing not so well, The Queen *snores* , shame for whitechapel.

Corrie did do well, they got their normal 9m+ for both episodes. Those above ratings are wrong. DS have posted the real ones. EE didn't do so great they only did 8.4m.

Cant wait to see this flop, Channel 5 is starting to make ITV 2 look like BBC 4.

If they compliment each other and show some personality The Voice coaches will do well. As big as Black Eyed Peas are Will.i.am isn't the singer. Fergie would have made more. How can Will.i.am coach people on their voices? We shall see.

Will Young can sing and as you say Charnham would be a better choice than Cheryl Cole. Also he would have made a good coach. The thing is that The Voice will already have comparisons with other singing talent shows and doesn't need more reminders like Will & Cheryl. Holly Willoughby presenting the show after working on The X Factor and Fame Academy is a presenting choice I would have stayed away from.


Corrie did well at 7.30pm with 9m viewers and then 8.5m an hour later isn't too bad. EastEnders should be closer to 9m if you ask me but Caroline Quentin's documentary is very popular.

I'm enjoying Whitechapel but don't think ratings will ever be series 1 levels again unless there's another snow day.

So 9m for episode 2 of Corrie? Even the ITV press office said it was 8.5m. Oops.

So Coro gets 9m on its strongest night and "did do well" whereas EE was on 8.4m and that's an "only" and "not so great" - these being overnights as well not finals, and take no account of the popular and well established young skewing BBC3 repeat....

No Tuesday post from Roscoe yet, but then the gap to EmFm was more pronounced last night than normal...

This programme is news to me. I doubt it will get a primetime slot on Channel 5 but we'll see. More likely to be filler on 5*.

I'm really happy with the C5 schedule right now. The US drama lineup is probably as strong as its ever been with 2 hour blocks of new episodes running on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They've got a set of good performing 8pm factuals together at long last. 7pm is improving without the news. Some big film premieres / sporting events are coming up in the next few months. It's all trending in the right direction.

The downmarket commissions only detract from the good stuff they are doing if you choose to let it do so. It's easily avoidable. If it was wall-to-wall crap a la ITV2 you might have a point.

Its going to be the flop of the year, particularly if ITV can kill it at birth. Nothing about this show looks appealing, new or distinctive. I'd expect Sky or Five to do something cheap and tacky looking like this to rip off TXF, not BBC1.

The irony is it is not cheap, it has cost £25m and the loss of half an F1 season...

Pretty good figures for C4 really. My Social Network Stalker left a sour taste in the mouth though, there was something very off about the whole thing and I'm not alone in feeling this way. I can't help but feel True Stories was a higher quality strand when it was on More4.

the problem is the wall to wall crap, is what its new to the channel, even new US drama, is simply a continuation on a theme. With Body of Proof failing and NCIS: LA on Sky One, Channel 5 will struggle to replace CSI, which is in effect the glue that has held its US drama together for over 10 years now.

Also Big Brother, could be described as "Wall to Wall" even more so if you include the likes of The Bachelor.

Its a bit like saying that Really is the best channel ever in the history of TV, because it all of sudden airs Ace of Cakes, and you start to over look every other program it airs.

Why don't they just give up on Skins now? Its time has gone. Move on.

Ah, therein lies the problem. They only report on the downmarket commissions that C5 make, nothing else. Ditto what they choose to review. Extremely biased publication and worth taking with a pinch of salt.


Dallas and Once Upon a Time are anything but a "continuation on a theme." They are two very different drama commissions for Channel 5 that do not fit the usual crime drama mould.

And Body of Proof isn't failing, it's doing really rather well over here for a 'B list' import. However, its limp ratings in the U.S. mean it is a cert for cancellation this season. C5 will still presumably show the second next year.

Finding a replacement for CSI won't be easy and isn't something that can be done overnight, have CBS yet either? C5 will be watching very closely to see what CBS does next. For now, it looks as though Vegas and perhaps one of the other two spinoffs will be recommissioned for another season in 2012/13.


Not really, it only takes up 1 hour of 4 primetime hours most nights when it is on, 2 maximum if you include the reality commissions around it. All the other successful elements of the C5 schedule remain.


Hmm, I don't even understand what point you are trying to make here. Although I was surprised when Really started showing that as I thought it was a Food Network show.

I think you know me better than to assume I only take notice of Channel 5 when it airs (or is reported to air) rubbish stuff.

CBS will find it alot easier to replace than Channel 5, who are at the mercy of channels like Sky, who can bid stupid amounts for any new shows they think will be good.

Sky currently have NCIS: LA and Hawaii 5-0, building on those two wont be a problem for them. Bones and its spin-off are also very viable for them.


it has repeats daytime on Channel 5, and Bit On the Side also takes up time.
