I dread for DOI tonight to be honest.
I mean last week the skate off went below 6m, and wasn't last week supposed to still be the cold snap, and everything was higher than usual. I reckon 6.3m and 5m for tonight to be honest. |

It is good because it isn't really a 7-8m programme, 6.5m for a charity show is good - not headline grabbing but good, I was surprised when I noted what it rated in 2011, it is now back to 2010 levels.
2010 & 2012 was Let's Dance For Sport Relief Sport Relief has always been Comic Relief's poor cousin:- Friday 18th March 2011: Comic Relief 10.26m Friday 19th March 2010: Sport Relief 8.06m I know it's the same Let's Dance programme every year, but still..... ![]() It's still a good figure for Let's Dance (just as DOI's figures are still good despite its drop) and only 0.2m less than I predicted on the ratings prediction game. |

Take Me Out peaked at 5.5m according to John Williams.
A bit lower than the last couple of weeks, but in line with the first few weeks of the series. I suspect the slight dip will have been down to a combination of a lower lead-in (Let's Dance will have dented TV Burp) and a shorter running time (less time to build its audience). |

I wonder if they will be repeating the Stan Boardman joke about Fokker aircraft which nearly got them taken off the air in a live edition years ago ?

Only that's really not true at all. The show has launched in markets where The X Factor and/or the Idol format have been at the very least popular if not outright dominant and been massively successful. People are far too keen to use The X Factor as a reason why the format can't possibly work in the UK. The Voice may or may not work here but if it doesn't it won't be because of The X Factor or even Britain's Got Talent. Its a more than strong enough format to stand on its own away from these shows and be successful.

I was going to mention this. You're right, The Voice has been a success in countries that already have Idol and/or The X Factor. I think it'll be a success.

Ratings include HD and are tape-checked where necessary. As expected ITV1 down week-on-week due to The FA Cup and differing demographics. Ross did well though later on with 3.5m including +1. Good night for BBC One with Let's Dance bringing in high numbers. Paul, do you have an average for Arsenal vs Sunderland? |

Strong night for BBC1, as whilst Let's Dance was down it still had a clear affect on ITV1, whilst Who Dares Wins and Casualty were both OK, if a little lower than usual. ITV1 didn't do too badly actually. The Harry Hill hour was dented by Let's Dance and the FA Cup lead-in as expected but it was business as usual from then onwards with Take Me Out getting another 5m and Ross doing decently later on. Typical really that he got more of a boost for having Keith Lemon on than he did for having Denzel Washington last week! Promoting Lemon during Take Me Out (which probably has a significant crossover audience with Celebrity Juice) probably helped.
Take Me Out will dip next week though as it has a 25 minute clash with Let's Dance thanks to ITV's woeful scheduling for next Saturday, which in addition to the aforementioned clash also sees All Star Family Fortunes buried at 6:05pm. Surely they'd be better off showing YBF/TV Burp at 6:30/7pm to get a headstart on Let's Dance, followed by ASFF at 7:30pm (the oldest skewing ITV1 show against the youngest skewing BBC1 show) with TMO at 8:30pm as Let's Dance ends with Ross later. Not difficult at all. |

Jonathan Ross Show does better with ITV personalities like Keith Lemon on rather than A lister guests like Keira Knightly and Tom Hardy, Expect more Corrie and Emmerdale actors to turn up in the future.

Happy with those. CSI:NY held up fine opposite Casualty, only down slightly week-on-week, the NCIS reruns are still performing strongly despite the new season starting and considering it ran until midnight and faced a higher profile subscription free fight on Sky that's a good result for the boxing too.
Third place is the icing on the cake. |

Bad night for ITV, even if Ross strangely rallied. Ouches for YBF and Burp. Would have thought the assumed 7m or so peak for the football would have seen Harry right for his two shows.

Given how we judge what is a good number at 9pm weekdays, I cant say that 3.2 million at 9:30 on a Saturday is much better. ITV just looks like it under preformed, entertainment format Take Me Out,apparently 2nd to the Lottery.

Underwhelming start for Let's Dance, be interesting to see a breakdown for the show.
Pretty poor for TV Burp, well beaten by Take Me Out. Probably best its ending as the ratings and quality peaked a while ago. |

How's down 14 percent still good? Dancing on Ice and Big Brother get slammed on this thread if theyre down that much. Its quite a bad start, BARB says it had 8million last year and 2010 it got 6.5million at half past 6.

I thought shows like this had to be judged against their highest rating series, or is that only for ITV shows?

Let's Dance is a 4 week charity competition and takes up 75 minutes per week on BBC One, Dancing on Ice is a 3 month skating show and can take up 150 minutes per week on ITV1. There's a bit of a difference.
