Is it another case of confusion in the US with the new set of ratings or is there an explanation behind the drops this time?

EastEnders pulled in 8.25m (37.8%) at 7.30pm as Lucy accused Mandy of cheating on Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 603k (3.2%) at 10pm. EE - 8.85mEmmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.26m (34.4%) at 7pm as Declan refused to buy the Bartons' farm. A further 143k (0.7%) tuned in on ITV1+1. EM - 7.40m EE wins easily as expected.

Only if it makes the argument more concrete, had EM rated 1m on +1, I would have skimmed over the fact

The y-o-y declines for ABC are primarily due to a drop at 9pm (The River vs V) and Body of Proof generally doing badly and being compared to a 20/20 special on Charlie Sheen at the height of his crazyness. The Biggest Loser you'd expect to fall vs Idol. So NBC and ABC seem OK. CBS is the only really weird one with NCIS down quite a lot but NCIS:LA up a bit. |

I didnt know Eggheads was more popular than Deal or No Deal, I thought DOND normally got more viewers. A pity that Pointless trailed behind The Chase but The Chase did have a headstart. The Exit List is very unpopular.

Is Deal or No Deal even still winning it's slot now? What does BBC2 and ITV1 get at 4pm?
It's ratings dropped quite significantly due to typical Channel 4 overkill and the ridiculous over the top nonsense within each episode. |

I think any game show starts to look tired after many years of constant broadcast, DOND is a parlour game without any real skill, the only variant is the courage of the player. When you consider a show like Pointless, The Chase or Eggheads - every show is different, the questions range from hard to simple. I don't see DOND being on air 6 days a week from 2013 and expect ratings to continue to slowly drop.

Strong night for BBC Two and C4 - the Horizon documentary did brilliantly for the former by getting itself noticed in the news, while BFGW does seem to be doing some good for the rest of the C4 schedule with Supersizers and Shameless putting in strong numbers too.
The task of the smaller channels is made easier by a dismal night for ITV. The Exit List is looking like the worst of a really terrible bunch of shows that have sunk in the Flopzone and ITV have successfully used Tuesdays to kill TBL too. They can't have expected anything else when they placed it there, surely. It didn't have spare viewers to shed. BBC One was very solid by contrast - an excellent share for The One Show and the soap block is obviously solid. Prisoners Wives sounds like it deserves better but they obviously made a mis-step with the title. It'll be lucky to return with those numbers, but it's not inconceivable. |

Both BBC One and ITV1 showing Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in June. The latter has Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham presenting: http://www.imediamonkey.com/itvs-jul...lip-schofield/
Is Huw Edwards doing it for BBC One? On to C4 and they've announced today (again?) they'll screen the sequel to Pillars of the Earth - World without End - later this year. I know I've seen that confirmed before. They've also bought the rights to Labyrinth - a three part mini-series - which may be in the same mould as Pillars or could be awfully worthy! Quote:
Kate Mosse's best-selling adventure thriller is adapted for TV by award-winning writer Adrian Hodges (My Week with Marilyn, Primeval) and directed by Christopher Smith (Black Death, Triangle). The high-concept thriller takes a journey through the south of France of the present, and the dark and tortured landscape of the Crusades and Cathar massacres of medieval times. Two spirited and charismatic heroines must somehow work together across the centuries in order to save a four-thousand-year-old secret from falling into the wrong hands. Labyrinth weaves its way through truth and legend, past and present, seamlessly blending into a unique and heart-wrenching thriller.
Also notice after a daytime trial before Christmas that "Come Date with Me" comes to primetime on March 10th - so likely to end up against The Voice and Take Me Out, meaning once again C4 are wasting a show which probably wouldn't do too bad in another slot. And E4 is airing the new (and final) series of One Tree Hill from Monday, meaning their drama acquisitions slate is completely bare this autumn as things stand, They'll definately need to beef that up as they have done with comedy this year as I think going forward to the 2012/13 season they've currently only got 90210 - assuming CW don't axe it. |

E4 could go for the CWs new show "Arrow" assuming it gets a pick up.
I think C5 might go for Elementary, however I could also see Sky showing an interest. Personally I would find the claim that Elementary is "Believer in Better" hilarious. |

Hearing that The Voice UK is on the move...
The Blind Auditions were filmed in Studio 1 at TV Centre - with all the "backstage" stuff filmed in Studios 2 and 6. Now the whole operation is moving to The Fountain Studios for the Battle rounds. Anyone know where the live shows will be based? |

The live shows are going to be at Elstree, didn't Over the Rainbow film at the Fountain Studios in 2010. BGT only uses it for a week anyway.

Ah right, yes apparently its taking the whole of the George Lucas Stage - so the size of the current Dancing on Ice studio (which is actually their old studio + the old Big Brother studio together).

The Monday-Friday shows consistently have C4's highest share of the day (around 15%). It must be worth keeping for that.

Only 6.6m for football, and that may include +1
Food Inspectors getting 5.1m puts that in context... England match peaked at 8.3m. Not great. Cardiff City peaked at 10.5m Sunday teatime viewers on BBC1...
