Did we ever get separate ratings for Tuesday at 9 on BBC1 with both Wales and Scotland showing different programme, one very good the other a bit crappy?

Also The Story of Wales is on BBC1 Wales tonight as well instead of Masterchef.

Make Bradford British (Channel 4) appears to be one of those rare programmes that you have to watch live so that you know what everyone's talking about tomorrow.
Ratings could be stellar.

ITV results out today look excellent and the market appears to agree - ITV shares up almost 7% today.

Worth flicking through presentation slides - top document on link below.

Sports rights (ie CL / FA) savings of £35m from 2013 - this will only help the P&L by £20m as the provision release will stop but even so it's a nice little boost and that's money freed up which can be spent elsewhere.

IF the economy starts picking up even if only very slowly then ITV does look well placed - I would have thought they should be in a position fairly soon to modestly start increasing programming spend again after several years of freezes / reductions.

Plus DSO will be behind it and the Licence Fee freeze means BBC cuts in some areas and at best a freeze in BBC1 primetime etc. C4's under quite a lot of pressure and Five, whilst improving, isn't really big enough to have much impact so all in all going forward competitive pressures look like being relatively subdued.

All in all, I think ITV will be feeling it's in a good position.

Generally speaking yes. They have cleared off the debt and now have a net positive cash balance. But I'd say that ITV1 ratings will not be the the sole focus of ITV management in the coming years as 2 things are very clear:

1) they need to make more of their own content and sell more content to other broadcasters
2) the multi channel stations ITV2/3/4 give a much better return for additional £1 invested in the programming budget.

As a result a growth in the share of ITV2/3/4 is worth much more to ITV than a corresponding share % increase for ITV1. Expect ITV1 share to gently continue to decline in the next 2-3 years with the m/c shares continuing to grow. Sure you will get some flack from the press and the internet flame throwers but the business will win out over these concerns.

Notice little has been said about Emmerdale's low rating last night.
Had that been EastEnders we would have had about 50 pages

Also EastEnders ran from 7:27-7:56 tonight
But its much more fun when EE is in crisis lol

On a serious note, that is a very low Emmerdale rating. Not really sure what happened there. And according to attentional its not tape-checked, however when I watched it, I watched it live and I'm sure it ended at 19.25.

As for EE starting at 7.27pm. Even though I don't watch it, its quite annoying. You can set the Sky+ to start and end two mins early, but even that wouldn't get the start.

Can anyone explain why on three different ITV programmes today they have said that Davy Jones (1945 - 2012) was in Coronation Street in 1961 aged 11?

He was 15 when Coronation Street started in 1960 - and 16 in 1961.

But the same non sequitar has been repeated all day today.
Which three programmes was that? Daybreak? This Morning? Loose Women? If so - nuff said.

What a ridiculous set of ratings when the cheapest nastiest most daytime-esque programme beats the rest of the schedule including the news and other major BBC1 brands.
Food Inspectors was heavily promoted and on against the football build-up (presented by ratings jinx Adrian Chiles)

Waterloo Road is probably the tripeiest, most loathsome drama that BBC1 will produce all year.

Masterchef should be on BBC2 - and considerably less often than it is now. Masterchef, Masterchef: The Professionals, Celebrity Masterchef, Masterchef At Large, Carry On Masterchef, Police Masterchef 2: Back In Training.:

Yeah 'The one show' ended early but surely when this happens (with Any programe) they could just add in a few trailers and start it at 7:29 at least and by then recordings might kick in or people might have turned over

I think i watched Emmerdale last night (If that was the ep where Zack snapped as he thought Sam & lisa were talking about him)
Im sure that ep finished early

Multiple sources : the UK entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest is Engelbert Humperdinck.

I am reminded of Yes Prime Minister....
Sir Humphrey: If you want to be really sure that the Minister doesn't accept it, you must say the decision is "courageous". Bernard: And that's worse than "controversial"? Sir Humphrey: Oh, yes! "Controversial" only means "this will lose you votes". "Courageous" means "this will lose you the election"!

Eastenders would have started at 7.27 to fit in the news bulletin which was on after it.

I don't think an ordinary smilie does that justice if true!

And it is. Official BBC Eurovision tweet confirming it!

Oh it's true. He's certainly different to Blue!

The football did ok last night for what was an international friendly where England fieled something of a youth team. BBC One's cheap n easy schedule held up well. Daddy Daycare was squeezed out but One Born Every Minute did well once again. Channel 5 had a relatively steady evening while Wonderland lost quite a bit on it's lead in, with Monty Halls doing ok for BBC Two.

Interesting to see the casting of Christopher Lloyd as granddad in the US remake of Only Fools and Horses. Seems a good fit character wise and might help it work. Anyone know when that pilot is due?
Early-mid May. I don't hold out a whole lot of hope for it.

What are predictions for NBC tonight? Only network showing all originals from 8-10, really want to know how well Awake is expected to do?
Awake is a tricky one to call.

I hope it at least breaks a 2 but unfortunately its going to be an up hill battle.

This remindes me of the old joke about getting a big name star, and you don't get a bigger name than him

Talking of big star names, Ms Bleakley (ex One Show presenter, sacked Daybreak host) excitedly tweeting tonight about her big new ITV1 show Mad Mad World featuring Peter Andre (ex of, er, something or other) "who revealed his most intimate secrets".

One to look out for, clearly...

And to think she might have had to make do this year with being the face of the Olympics. Lucky escape there Christine!

I don't think she is worried. She has plenty of money in the bank and who knows, it may not have worked out that way with the BBC. People make their own choices, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but they are still their choices. A risk is a risk, better than playing safe.

What's with all the "theys", George?

Have you left? Hope it was nothing to do with Not Stopping the Midwives!

THIS is the first glimpse of the major new £10million drama Titanic, set to be one of the biggest shows of the year.

The miniseries, written by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes, will show the ship sinking FOUR times, from the perspectives of different passengers.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tv-film-...new-10m-749286

I think ABC viewers could get a bit baffled at the ship reappearing during the Saturday triple bill.

EDIT:

The four-part global co-production, filmed on a lavish set in Budapest, starts at the end of this month, with the final instalment airing on the centenary of the disaster, April 15.
I'm not sure if this has already been said, but it looks like it's going to be weekly.

"Going Downton With The Titanic" -

Not as good as my "Downton at Sea", if I say so myself...

I do think watching the damned think sink four times over during the series is a bit much. No wonder the Yanks are burning it off.

Why have they got Captain Birdseye on the front page too? Is it a free fish fingers with 20 tokens promotion?

Nice to see a rising house prices story on the front of the Express, accompanied by a picture of Princess Kate...

I take it that means he is still alive.

I dont know how she can look herself in the mirror at the moment.

She must weep when she hears The One Show theme.

She won't be alone on that front.

(Thought I'd get that one in before George does!)

Been a disappointing month for ratings it seems.
If its bad now just wait till the summer I wonder if the channels BBC1 ITV will be down to the 2 million and 3 million.
Hopefully the Olympics will make this thread more busy.
