For the first time in the history of the Champions League, a player scored five goals in a single match. That happened in tonights match itv1 showed, will this historic occasion get good ratings for them or not. Barcelona are big team but two weeks ago the foreign match got just 2-and-a-half million, which is less than Channel5 and some Sky Sports football (NB).

NB- Sky Sports claim they get 2m more viewers watching in pubs but there is no statistical evidence of this happening. It is PR spin to make some of their low ratings look higher than they actually are.

Almost every week 4 million EE viewers don't stick around for HC. I don't think the lead in is the problem. HC does drop when EE drops, but we can't assume they are all EE/HC viewers.”

Just a reminder that BARB officials for Holby City do not have Scotland included and therefore often see a drop below what its overnights were.

Has BGT's launch date been confirmed on here yet? Alisha Dixon confirmed 24th March just a minute ago on Daybreak.

Also has Titanic's lauch date been confirmed yet? Only on that link someone posted on here yesterday for the trailer, there was a behind the scenes making of the trailer and in the bankground one on the posters had 25th March - ITV1 on it? Maybe a clue?

I don't suppose advertisers would deal with Sky on made up figures. I've never seen the 2m per match figure before. Where did it come from?

Quote:
“Every day, Sky Sports channels are broadcast with a separate advertising feed into nearly 40,000 pubs and clubs across the UK. This means advertisers can specifically target viewers in the out of home environment.
Sky Pub Sports provides advertisers the opportunity to reach a young male audience in a social group environment. On average, around 33% of Sky Sports viewing takes place out of home, reaching around 3 million adults a week, 67% of which don't have access to Sky Sports at home. With Pub Sports as part of your schedule, you are reaching sporting fans that would otherwise not be part of your audience.”

Titanic actually sank on April 15, 1912, if that gives you a clue

Presumably one of the reasons why ITV haven't gone for a Saturday teatime match is to avoid a clash with the Six Nations, which would be more of an issue for them, with their casual audience, than ESPN where football fans specifically pay for it.

Where are you getting half past two from? Why would there be half an hour of pre-race discussion on a highlights show? Anyway, let's put it on at 11am then, when everyone's asleep or having lunch. Never mind the fact it'll get a bigger audience at 2pm. Let's also put Match of the Day at 7pm because currently viewers have to avoid the results for several hours.

Well, this week it is, but next week it moves back to Tuesday at 10.35 because BBC Scotland, as I thought might be the case, have a new series of their own starting next Monday. But why BBC Scotland can't just stick with Holby at 10.35 I don't know, I know it's not primetime but it's surely of more value in a regular slot than just booting it around wherever. Like F1.

Are we sure Titanic is going to start on the 25th? That's Dancing On Ice's final night and I'm struggling to see how they will fit it in around that. Unless they reveal the winner in a 10pm slot but then how long is each Titanic episode going to be?

Edit. Having just read up each episode is 60 minutes long. It all sounds rather tedious to me.

I think it best ITV keep Titanic as far away from Dancing on Ice as is possible. Given what happened last time Titanic hit some ice.

God help us if a under performing Dancing on Ice lead in, meant that Titanic flopped.

Yeah I was aware of that. But that works out right surely if it's suppose to be weekly.

Ep1 - Sunday 25th March
Ep2 - Sunday 1st April
Ep3 - Sunday 8th April
Ep4 - Sunday 15th April

I can't quite remember if Dancing on Ice Final's are longer than usual. But as Wild at Heart ends this weekend and then there's a Millionaire Mother's Day special in it's place on the 18th March, that seems to fit perfectly for Titanic to start on the the 25th don't you think?

The Titanic sank at 2.20 AM on April 15th 1912. It collided with the iceberg, just before midnight on April 14th.

however whatever the exact date, only one episode can air on the anniversary, and since the ship sinks in all 4 of them, then that cant happen

That was the original plan until ITV realised it was a stinker and rather than scupper the whole Easter schedule, they have switched it weekly. The Yanks have decided to burn it all off over two consecutive nights.

Jake Kanter claims Masterchef won the night with 4.53m.

Astonishingly, given the scoreline, the football flopped, peak of only 3.6m.

1m for BBC4's new queens of England documentary! (Sam Hodges)

How would anyone know what the scoreline was if they weren't watching it in the first place.

I always wonder where all the extra viewers come from during extra time and penalties of big games, how do they know if they are watching or doing something else.

No, but it was there in the top left corner when viewers pressed 3 on their remotes...

Because most people flick around the channels until they find something worth watching. Hence why we now have "second chance catch up" channels, branded as "+1"s, to pick up casual flick around viewers.

The Yanks have put it on a main broadcast network. IIRC first time ABC have shown a 'Brit' programme since The Avengers forty odd years ago.
