Olive oil as a moisturiser
Hello
My skin has been quite dry lately, and nothing seems to be working. One of my friends has recommended applying olive oil to it before going to bed. She swears by it! I just wondered if anyone had tried it before, and what their thoughts were. Thanks

I do it in the winter, when extra cold, and it does work wonders. I tend to keep it off the nose though, just on the forehead, cheeks and chin since this is where I get really dry skin. I know some people say it clogs the pores etc but I never seemed to have a problem with it. The only thing I heard, and stuck with, was that you have to use the extra virgin kind, so I did. Have no clue if the non virgin kind will cause problems.

I sometimes use it instead of night cream if my skin is really dry. I prefer avocado oil though, I think it's a better weight. You can get it in health food stores...

Hi, I tried using olive oil, I found it very soothing when my skin was particularly dry and scratchy but too much for regular use. I've been using this from Superdrug every night for the last 3 months or so and am totally delighted with it.
http://www.superdrug.com/superdrug/s...l/invt/398225/ Its cheap at full price but is often on a deal. |
