3GB data SIMS now just £11
Just bought a 3 3GB data SIM to replace my Vodafone one which is for very occasional use when no WiFi is available. It's a no brianer really as Vodafone want £15 for 1GB although it never expires so in fairness its a good option for occasional use and I have had my original one for 18 months now without topping up.
I'll use the Vodafone Dongle 365 which I have now to try the 3 USIM when it arrives. It's good for up to 3.6Mbs and I have never seen more than 1.5Mbs on 3 in my area so it should suffice. I could be tempted to buy a new HSPA+ dongle as they are now just £17 on Amazon with 1GB for 30 days included. They are easy to unlock too so if I choose to return to Vodafone's £15 GB deal which is perhaps best value for me as its not time limited, that is another option. I think I'll probably use the new SIM with a tablet computer for browsing outdoors and at £3.70 a month it seems a decent deal if I simply use the data allowance and bin the USIM when the 3 months expire. Why would anyone actually top-up a 3 data SIM on a month by month basis as an occasional user? |

I have my Galaxy S with 1GB of data which I tether occasionally too. Vodafone don't seem to bother about that and its often more convienient than carrying around a dongle. Even with tethering now and again my monthly data allowance is nowhere near its limit which is proabably why they don't make an issue over it.
