Louie 7.5 for Andy. Oh my god they get worse. Katarina 3 weeks ago. Please ITV save your show and get some people who know what there doing.

Please get shut of that Louie, he is pathetic. His markings are all over the place and I just can;t bear to watch him.

I thought they went very easy on Jen tonight. Louie and Robin gave her only 0.5 less than Chico whose skating skills were much better (plus he does more solo work).

And I'm not a fan of Sam's but he should have been placed higher on the leaderboard.

I don't think the scores were bad at all - looking at the leaderboard the best skaters were on top, so what's the problem?

Louie repeats himself all of the time, which is tedious, but Robin and Katarina definitely know what they are talking about. I thought Karen was out of line to suggest Katarina needed to push her scores up. It's all a bit arbitrary as they are being judged on a made-up celebrity scale, and so long as they are in a sensible order, the actual scores don't matter too much.

I would have put Sam above Andy, but other than that, it seemed pretty fair.

I'm with you Tejas at the end of the day the weaker skaters ended up at the bottom. Louie marked everyone high Katarina concentrated on the skills and marked lower so it all evens out in the end.

This. I like the panel this year. Good mix between skating and performance

The pure rankings of the couples was fine, except Sam probably should've been above Andy. The marking was a little bit on the high side but it didn't dictate the overall result, except maybe claiming Sam some sympathy votes.

I think the panel are great this year and the scoring generally seems fair. I wasn't sure about Katarina at first but she's really grown on me. I hope she stays for next year.

Karen annoyed me last night when she said that - at the end of the day the judges can only mark what they see, not give extra marks for sympathy cos someone's injured.

Louie was too generous with some of his marks last night, I don't think he gave anyone lower than 7. He's the weakest link on the panel.

Me too, and she could have put Katarina in a very difficult position because if she then marked someone higher (because she thought they warranted it) someone was bound to have said it was because Karen had told her to etc etc................

Karen is allegedly a very good coach but I really wish they would keep her backstage away from the cameras in the main show.

I am no expert, but I would have put Sam way above Andy, he was for me the weakest skater bar Heidi. I dont understand Louie rating his dancing skills cos he was wobbly and wooden. I thought Sam started off at the same level, but has improved far more. Maybe they see something I do not. Katerina I think it was commented on Rosemarys "quiet skates" so I am sure there is more to "getting it right than we may perceive (me at least). I know what looks good though, and dancewise, Sam was far better, and seemed to be more in sync with his partner. I dont get it. Otherwise though, I love this panel. I certainly (for all the booing the audience do and I do wish they would shut up!) think they know what they are talking about far more. Louie makes no pretence about being there to score dancability, (or nice lines if you want to put it that way). The other two are real experts in ice skating. Better than Mr Nasty mealy mouthed Jason, the idiot Emma and poor Robin trying to work with that!

Yes I thought so too, and actually I thought hers were the most realistic marks of all...

FWIW (and that may not be much) I much prefer the judging panel as it is now.

Louie has been a breath of fresh air, proving that you can judge performance/nice lines/danceablity (whatever it is you want to call it!) in a positive, encouraging way without resorting to bitch, catty remarks (surely one of the worst negative stereotypes that can be applied to a gay man - who'd want to 'live down' to that the way Jason did anyway?). A bit OTT he may be, both in expression and marks (and I was one of those dreading his arrival - how wrong I was!) but Louie offers constructive criticism, and always softens the blow of something not being right by pointing out something that was done well. His marks on Sunday, whilst a little over-enthusiastic, were at least all relative to each other so where's the harm?

Katarina also has been a lovely addition. She's polite, friendly but most importantly she was a world-class skater in her own right and has a keen eye for the details of skating - but she doesn't pick apart people's skills in a negative way, she's always trying to offer support and advice to make the next performance better. I struggle to understand why her detractors find anything wrong with the way she does things. Yes, she marked quite strictly on Sunday, but this is her first series and I'm betting she looked at the bare bones of the mark scheme for the skills test (i.e. two points per skill, the rest being for the overall performance) and applied that fairly to what she saw according to the letter of that guidance (which, surely, has been written by Robin as head judge - does anyone know for sure?).

Again, as with Louie, Katarina's marks were consistent relative to each other, so it made no difference to the overall leaderboard. We can argue that Andy was overmarked, but if he was that was the only anomaly - and anyway, just think how many other sports are marked on the subjective view of what the judge/referee sees (or doesn't see) at the time. They're human - it happens. It doesn't make them candidates for being sacked! And life isn't always fair - but guess what, we live with it!

Robin is always Robin - he's perfectly qualified to judge skating, and whilst we may not always agree with his marks or his comments, he is the glue that holds the judging panel together. I wonder if he's enjoying it all a bit more now - not only has Jason gone (I know they often agreed in principle, but I can't believe Robin really approved of Jason's acerbic approach to his comments) but he's no longer the lone skating judge surrounded by non-skating judges - he seems more relaxed to me this series, anyway.

So, to return to the OP's original proposal that the current panel need getting rid of, I'm afraid I (and nearly everyone else who's replied so far!) seem to disagree with you!

NNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I think the judging panel is now the best it's ever been. I did like Jason, but he did go too far with his comments sometimes and I hated all the hysterical overreactions when he said anything negative. I often disgaree with all the judges but I think on the whole they're doing a good job!

I like the panel, Louie seems a nice enough chap, Robin bores me rigid but then he always has . Katarina seems a lovely lady. Shame about Nicky don't think he deserved the sack.

Completely agree on Louie even though I don't particularly like him. I didn't mind Nicky but much prefer Katarina and find her quite amusing...

Everything you say is true, BUT there is no entertainment factor and the panel is dry and cold

I don't want or need entertaining by the panel; they are experts in the field of skating or dance, therefore perfectly qualified. They are all constructive and doing their job really well; for me this panel is by far the best. Let the skating entertain us and the judges do their job.
