She's the girl who got a restraining order out on him to keep him away, went on 20/20 and said she wanted to be a role model to her fans that they shouldn't be abused and to not take any trouble, to seek help etc. And here she is now on a explicitly sexual song (along with the track being utter shite, too) with the man who almost killed her and threatened to (see the police report) who says in the opening line 'I wanna f**k you right now'. Such a role model isn't she. Such a good message. She's a tacky mess.

Controversy sells but this is just real bad taste ...possibly the worst publicity stunt ever ....

Also, I understand that famous people shouldn't have to make every decision based on whether or not it makes them a good role model and if Rihanna wants to forgive him, it's totally up to her. However, considering how public the incident was, some level of responsibility and sensitivity could have been used, rather than turning it in to a publicity stunt. (also Chris Brown's whole 'f you-I can do whatever I want' attitude doesn't help matters either imo.)

I think I would honestly LOVE the song if it was just Rihanna with no feature ( regardless of who the feature was after all). Just an extended version of the track, with one more verse from her, the chorus repeated a couple of times and a cool bridge/ breakdown.

I want to clarify that I do NOT condone Chris Brown's actions a few years ago OR Rihanna's (and her team's ) choice to include him in the track, I condone neither! But the track is unfortunately hot. I really wanted to hate it, but I don't...I'm sorry. It could have been much better with no feature, but it's still one of the best urban pop songs of her career, it's just addictive. I don't want to reflect on the potential impact this subliminal message she's conveying through this collaboration will have on her young fans, but objectively, this is a solid song...

I agree. Ever since the incident, Chris Brown has made it all about himself - he even made an album called forgiving all my enemies. It's an odd way to think, I'm wondering why he thinks that he needs to forgive. Like Rihanna's fans have done something wrong ? Seriously strange, and very misogynistic.

the song is great, and i was waiting for the 'full' version with just rihanna, so hopefully thats somthing that will happen.
but the songs fine right up until chris comes in,ánd its just a mess, its like he was plonked there simply for the 'shock' factor.

Most artists make many different versions of songs when they release them as a single, but in my opinion, you should only have one version of each song on the album, and then release all the dance/rap remixes on an EP when the song becomes a single.

Yes it is. Just because you don't like the remix, doesn't mean everyone hates it. Look on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter (where the 40m Rihannna fans are). On Youtube it has around a 85% like rating

Her official Facebook page just posted a link to this remix - so far, it has over 18,000 'likes'. Out of the 2,000-odd comments, reaction seems to be generally negative with statements such as:

''So disappointed Rhi Some things shouldn't be compromised for money or fame'' and ''if chris brown beats your ass again I'm gonna laugh yo'' to ''He ruined the song and he almost ruined her life and career. I hope she knows what she's doing cause she deserves a better man than that idiot man-child.''

It's also worth pointing out that the status may only have so many 'likes' because she's giving those who like it a chance to enter a competition to attend her concert and meet and greet.

Firstly @Dee, Could not agree more with you when you said “parents should be raising their kids not letting TV do it” 100% agree! EVERY artist no matter who they are (and I don’t care what ANYONE says) is gunna release a song or video or magazine shoot or something to which we all find to much for children because they are meant to be a role model…Unfortunately, these people are GROWN and are gunna wanna do grown people things, it then just falls down to the parent to do just that and parent!!
Secondly, as for this Remix, FYAAHHH I loved it!!! Now I know everyone is jumping on the “OMG I can’t beleieve they would be so stupid, she would let a man that tried to kill her collab with her” etc…It’s called life and it’s called his life and her life not OURS!! So if they have chosen to forgive (but just remember never forget) and decided to collab together then so be it….
No one person is perfect and how many people do we know that have had something bad happen to them by someone but to this present day still speak to or do things with that person whether it be go on a night out or go the movies or something….Only difference is these people are artists and are famous but are still in the same situation as every other HUMAN BEING out there…
