I finally worked out last year what my official all-time fave song is. It's the Beach Boys with do It Again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHpjILzv1P4

I first heard it as an oldie when I was 21, and it is the only song that has never been anything less than one of my all-time fave songs. Others have taken time to grow on me, or not always been 100% certainly my fave song of the year at least.

Thank you for starting this thread Mememee, you have just given me an excuse to listen to it again!

i love you love me love, but then again i wasnt the only one who liked this as 1.5 million people did too and its the 57th best selling single of all time

And lets also remember that only 4 singles in the entire 70s went stright in at no.1 all in 1973 as it happens , 3 by Slade the other by Glitter , a feat that not Abba, or Queen managed , or even the BCRS

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen. Funking magnificent. When I first heard it, I vowed to like everything he ever did as I figured that someone who could write such brilliance had got to be good.

Mr Springsteen, incidentally, has not let me down.
