Maple syrup.... Celebrating the fact that I no longer have to walk around with a bit of charcoal smeared on my forehead the day after.... stupid religious tradition

I haven't had pancakes in years. But I do love them. I've just never found the effort as an adult to make them.

I don't know what to give up for lent yet. But I'll probably try hard to give up sweets. So I better have lots of lemon and sugar on my pancakes tommorrow.

Why wait for one day of the year to have pancakes? My mum used to make once a month at least.

Another religious thing we go through because it is tradition.

Having pancakes on pancake day and having pancakes on any other day are not mutually exclusive you know.

Unless you're sticking to the whole tradition, in which case you won't be having them duting Lent, any other non-fasting time is fair game though...

Fair enough! I've heard of Ash Weds but never putting ashes on your forehead. I know a few Catholics and none of them do this to my knowledge.

I celebrate Pancake Day not Shrove Tuesday as that is a religious nonsense thing.

Always lemon & sugar in large amounts.
