Quotes about Kylie from other celebrities....
I'm compiling a list os positive things celebs have had to say about Kylie... do any other spring to mind...?
Alice Cooper "If a Kylie song comes on with a catchy beat, I'll sit and rock my head to it like anyone else." Robbie Williams “I had the biggest crush on her when I was at school. To then duet with her on Kids was a dream come true. She’s beautiful.” Madonna People are always attacking Kylie for copying me. I back the underdogs and people are always having a go. I'm supporting her for that reason." Jake Shears, Scissor Sisters “When she’s in the mood she’s wild. When she’s got the devil in her, she’s so fun. She loves a good time.” Jason Donovan In anyone's life the first relationship is potent, it's something you never forget for the rest of your life. I've always been supportive of her and she of me... She was a huge part of my life and we'll always have that bond." Pete Waterman “There was just something different about her. She oozed talent. When you got her in the studio she was one of those people who have this air about them, they can almost switch it on and off like a light bulb. It's a very special gift.” Dannii Minogue “Kylie is fairly chilled, but not always. She's not feisty. She's a worrier. She's good at containing all her emotions through her work and with her friends.” |

Sorry, not positive exactly, but my favourite quote about Kylie:
David Bowie: "I know about Kylie (Minogue) and Robbie (Williams) and 'Pop Idol' and stuff like that. You can't get away from that when you hit the (British) shore, so I know all about the cruise ship entertainment aspect of British pop". |

I could understand it for Robbie but Kylie isn't cruise ship and David hasn't had a career since 1982 anyway |

I've never heard that quote about Kylie from Madonna but, man, I wish I had done, so I could have used it to silence all those people who "had a go" in Madonna's name. I really do love it when I hear Madonna saying nice things about Kylie and vice versa. There really seems to be a mutual appreciation, which is rather lovely. I've been to a Madonna gig while Kylie was in the audience, plus I know Madonna's been to a few of Kylie's shows over the years.
I don't have the book to hand, but check out her coffee table book from 2000 (the one called "Kylie" with the sweat band on the cover) and there are loads of positive words from other celebs on there, including Nick Cave, Bono and loads of others. I remember that Bobbie Gillespie of Primal Scream was always a huge supporter. |

Its always been said Madonna and Kylie are just parallels of each other rather than rivals. I like that phrase better. |

I love that she really does respect her contemporaries and female artists who do cut out of the mould. She is a respectful lady which is why i admrie her as a person...i detest when people call Madonna "cold, heartless, bitter" when she is interviewed....it is just her front and she has needed that front to have the career she has, but she is also really funny. I like the use of word "parallel" there because while they do have similarities....in the UK Kylie is considered basically second bar none to Madonna in terms of success, commercial appeal. And the sense Kylie has achieved 25 years in a Pop Career. The parallels being well...Madonna is a tough Warrior Queen who cuts to the bone with irony and some wit. While Kylie is basically summed up in her last album title, fiesty, fun and the goddess of lurrrve

I once remember reading an interview with Madonna in which the interviewer referred to Madonna as "The Queen of Pop" and Kylie as "The Princess of Pop", to which she replied.
"Yeah, that's the way we like it." I thought that was kinda neat. She basically acknowledged that they were both pop royalty but also acknowledged, rightfully so, that she'd been doing it for longer. As a Kylie fan, first and foremost, I gave her her due. |

One thing I really like about Kylie is just how lovely and down to earth she appears to be in all interviews. She has no attitude problems or airs and graces. I often read in magazine interviews how she doesnt have any diva qualities at all and makes no demands and how easy she is to get on with.....
I appreciate how she never insults anyone through her interviews and doesnt get involved in scandals...There's nothing controversial about her and I like that quality Bono loves her. So does Naomi as do many other celebs that I have read over the years. Its heartwarming to read. I wish this was the case with more female artists who are arrogant, rude, with terrible nasty attitudes. Such a huge turn off. I'm not mentioning names |

Hate to disappoint you, friend, but Kylie is NOT down to earth and has a terrible attitude problem. People who have worked with her apparently aren't as well disposed towards her.
She always comes across as a cocky little piece to me. Bono and Naomi love her? Not surprised at this as they too are so far up their own backsides they are on first name terms with their internal organs and thus recognise a kindred spirit. |

Geri Halliwell:
"I have loved Kylie since watching her in Neighbours. I think she's cool.. There was this big phoney story going around that we were actually really competitive with each other because we were the two rival queens of pop fighting it out for the same market. In reality we got on really well." and "She's a great kisser" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVqVgvLSe1A |

james dean bradfield and his band the manics were huge fans from way back and wanted to collaborate with her previously to 1996. there was a song in 1991 called `little baby nothing` that the band initially wanted her to record with them. he was on a documentary about her called `spinning around: the kylie minogue story`, where he along with other celebrities discuss her.
here is snippet of a radio interview from 1998, where james discusses minogue very favourably.

Bette Midler
"Kylie Minogue is divine." Sarah Michelle Gellar "I'm a big fan. I saw her in concert while I was out filming in Australia and she was crazy good." "She's got a really good butt. She does." ![]() Drew Barrymore "One of my British friends introduced me to her music. I'm usually more of an Iron Maiden kind of gal but yeah, I totally dig Kylie. Madonna too." Britney Spears "I love her." Calvin Harris "It is probably 'German Bold Italic', the one she did with Towa Tei. It is ****ing hilarious and it's why I love Kylie, because she does exactly what she wants to do." I'm trying to find the quote from Paul McCartney where he talked about how much he liked her. There's also an interview where Nicole Kidman talks about her admiration and respect for her but I can't find it. Apparently Michael Jackson was a big fan as is Janet Jackson. There was a show a few years back on Channel 4 which had lots of celebrities praising her and her career. |

There's a quote from Baz Lurman where he compares Kylie to Marilyn Monroe - sex and innocence combined or something.

I have always been a fan of Kylie (and I like some of Madonna's material to)...since her Charlene days.
For me, she is a 'safe pair of hands'. She is non-threatening, non-controversial...but good fun, nice and entertaining at the same time. You are always guaranteed a good time with Kylie. Kylie and Madonna have done the 'hard graft'. They haven't done the 'quick fix/reality tv talent show' route, and that has to be respected and admired. They have both had longevity (Madonna - 28 years so far, Kylie - 25 years so far) because they have worked hard, supported by quality material, in my view. Both fulfil their 'roles' brilliantly, in my view. Long may they both reign supreme.
