so so so disappointed. It's all so generic and she's simply conforming to all of the club 'anthems' (I use that term very loosely) that are 'in' now.

She's bringing nothing new or exciting to the table and that's what Madonna used to be about.

Shame.

I've just heard it. One word devastated.

I am really not sure what has gone wrong, in the past when Madonna has needed to pull an album out the bag it was done no problem. She needed Ray Of Light after the terrible Bedtime Stories. She needed Confessions after the not so good American Life. She needed MDNA after the bad Hard Candy.

I have heard 3 songs now -none of them are that good nevermind great. I so do not want Madonna to be signing this rubbish. Sack your management now Madonna, hire me i will not be afraid to say this is c***, go away and do it again.

Bloody amazing this new song

I find nothing about this Generic. Madonna never works with Generic producers or does Generic songs because what people have done today, is what she did decades ago.

It is a fair argument you put across there.

But at the same point it is also showing MDNA has these songs released to tease us all in. Wild IMO as i said earlier is very representive of where she has been in a massive catchy Dance anthem.

You know? Like Madonna has always had Dance as part of her life, she made is big starting out in clubs etc. and she still does dance in clubs with her troupe and very much speaks of her rebelling against the system so to speak.

But MDNA will be very much presenting loads of different styles...as she herself said "she believes in MDNA as a record, and there is something for everyone" So if you dont like heavy club songs...Falling Free looks set to be something dramatic.

But at the same point i do know a lot of Madonna fans who have Hard Candy or Bedtime Stories as a favourite and also some fans dont like Ray Of Light or COADF....thats the magic of Madonna really she can cater to so many tastes.

But i like that you put a reason why you dislike it...sorry for typing so much haha. But i think she has a great team behind her too....else she wouldnt be showcasing it on Vevo.

Hahahahahhaa....this song is absolute drivel!

Queen of Pop..technically yes, but she is just ruining her legacy.

how is she ruining her legacy exactly? By releasing a massive catchy Dance anthem. By collaborating with a massive producer and friend of hers and creating something that will be a massive force...well bigger impact on the charts i reckon than her last release.

Madonna cannot "ruin" her legacy...she is adding to it whether you like the sounds or not.

I adore Girl Gone Wild... I was worried based on the snipet ...but after listening to the whole song including the intro...it reminds me of Sorry from Confessions on the Dancefloor.... I am now excited about MDNA ...I have a feeling the album is going to be high energy and psychedelic .... Confessions part 2 .... with the trippy elements of ROL courtesy of Orbit.

I doubt it'll be much of a chart smash tbh. I like Madonna. I just spent over £90 to go to see her in July for goodness sake. I even liked Gimme All Your Luvin! But this song is an absolute abomination, and it can harm her legacy because the younger generation who don't know all her iconic moments from the 80s/90s etc, will just think her music is generic & exactly like everybody elses like LMFAO etc...maybe even less, so to call someone SO generic the "Queen of Pop" is basically ridiculous to a lot of people. That's a fact!

I remember back on here last October/November when Rihanna's We Found Love came out and the hysteria about how bad the song was, was just so OTT with users saying it wouldn't chart well and actually jumping with glee when it first looked like it was flopping in America. However as soon as it became obvious the song was infact going to be one of her biggest ever hits all these posters suddenly disappeared from her topics..

I have a feeling the same will happen here.

Perhaps this is part of my problem. I have no idea what vevo is and i have no desire to find out.

I have just listened to it again. There was no improvement, there is nothing to the lyrics (there is the Sorry bit "forgive me" there is the girls just wanna have fun (cyndi lauper), there is just nothing new or exciting about it, Madonna even sounds bored. The tune is not in my head. It is instantly forgettable. It is coming across worse than bad euro-pop. It is coming across as euro-trash.

Madonna has always been at her best when she is out there doing something nobody else is. To me this sounds like a million other poor pop songs.

I don't think this song will get playlisted on radio 1, and i expect it to do badly in the UK charts.

It may grow on me when i hear the full album, but as a stand alone single it is poor.

I am tending to agree with jkennedy. Madonna appears to be doing her best to ruin her legacy.

I like it a lot, can imagine it on the dancefloor at XXL with all the guys going crazy....- but as said before it's nothing new and it won't win her many new (younger) fans. But it'll keep us gays happy - maybe that's what she was after

Thought it was average on first listen, but its stuck in my head so could be a big hit.

one thing is certain though...if commercial radio ignore this, then her singles career really is over. If she can't get the likes of Capital to play this style of music then she may as well stick to touring.

She only sings all of three words over and over again, so I'm not surprised people are finding it catchy....

Personally I don't really rate this song after GMAYL.....it seems too safe and copycat....It has a nice sound but it's quite boring to me, and it doesn't seem to go anywhere....there's no killer drop or breakdown, or questionable/interesting lyric.....it's a bit meh and definitely a step down from the lead single....

It's mildly catchy but really lightweight. This is the queen, and someone of her caliber should be making amazing pop music with real depth.

I've only listened to this a couple of times so it may be a grower, but it already seems to pail in comparison to Gimme All Your Luvin, which hooked me straight away.

Was this a rushed album?

I'm surprised to suddenly see so much support for Give Me All Your Luvin', the song flopped by all accounts. Trust me this one won't.

Thankfully, every listen I'm enjoying it slightly more and more, and I've listened quite a lot. With GMAYL it was more like the most enjoyment I got was from the initial sugar rush of hearing it the first few times or playing it back to back for a while.

I dunno, I like it.

It is true that I wouldn't pay too much attention to it (unless I heard it loads) if it were by any other artist than Madonna, though. And I think there definitely needs to be strong (like really strong) album tracks on MDNA for people to not lose faith, otherwise the general consensus will be very meh. Some fans are saying that Hung Up was disliked by most fans when it first came out, but there aren't that many general/casual people that dislike it from what I've seen. GMAYL had nowhere near the same effect, a lot didn't connect with it, and I'm not sure if this will either.

And lets face facts. The lyrics on Hung Up, 4 Minutes, Sorry, Give It 2 Me, Jump etc were hardly deep were they. So I don't get the sudden hysteria over her dumping down here...

Mmmmmm I don't hate it but i don't love it, if that makes any sense and to me it is an average dance song that is fun and catchy. The problem is Madonna has a catalogue of such amazing songs, this just is not in their league sadly. Her vocals sound like they are phoned in and the production is weak. I have high expectations from her and when she releases something average I seem allot more harder on her than any other artist.

I have heard masterpiece, GGW, GMAYL and a snippet of TUTR and i am under whelmed by them all, but on a positive note there are many other songs i haven't heard from the album yet so I still remain cautiously optimistic. i will make my final judgement when I hear the whole album, fingers crossed.

Who cares if its generic? Clearly a lot of people - mostly fans.

I remember the days of Bedtime Stories/ Ray Of Light. Some of the best days of my life. She was on top of everyone - spewing lyrics like 'Oops, didn't know i couldn't talk about sex', really stirring the pot and shpwing everyone that she was the Queen and the backlash of Erotica didn't even phase her.

Fast forward almost 20 years, and this is what she produces.

Seriously? Weak hook 'hey ey ey ey ey....', boring chorus, stupid generic lyrics. Benny has given her some of the worst production of his career (see Kelis' 'Brave' to see how good his production really is).

This isn't Madonna's low point (it was Revolver), but this is going to flop harder than Give Me... Although, if it doesn't flop, I will hold my hands up and say i was wrong.

All is not lost though, William Orbit is sure to have given her 5 great songs on the album - I may just treat MDNA as Madge/Orbit 5 track EP.

Ps. I'm not bashing, I love Madonna - she's one of my favourite artists of all time, but she really isnt an artist anymore. She's a sheep.

Hear Hear.

I would even add Music to that list. Madonna maybe alot of things but she hasn't ever set the world on fire with her song writing give or take a handful of tracks. She has always been about pop/dance songs.

I love Madonna, but this song is not cutting it. It's not horrible, but not what I would expect from her. Why does she feel the need to fit in when she's probably the only female in the mainstream industry who can afford to stand out? It's just frustrating, isn't it?

And I don't even think it's going to do THAT well at the clubs? It's pretty lacklustre. When it comes to its quality, ever since she hit the Superbowl stage with LMFAO, I knew the experimental side of the album ( suggesting it still exists ) would be overshadowed during the first months of the campaign, but she didn't just release a generic single, she released a mediocre (imo) single and that's the problem.

Still love her, though
