As announced today, Rihanna has started work on album number 7, but what is your favourite album so far?

I would go as far as saying it's one of the best albums by a female over the past decade

I liked the old Rihanna before "slutty Rihanna" sorry!
I just liked some of the summery songs like Pon De Replay. We Ride and Unfaithful were classic rnb songs as well.

If not then LOUD for me

I find it very hard to say a favorite album, it depends what mood i'm in and whats most recent. But if i had to choose it would defiantly be Good girl gone bad, closely followed by Rated R, then Loud and Talk That Talk are equal but they are all amazing imo. I haven't heard in full A girl like me or Music of the sun so I cannot judge.

Rated R ! Followed by Loud and then Talk That Talk. I don't really listen to the other 3 much aside from singles.

EDIT:

Actually Loud/TTT are on the same level to me

GGGB has some decent singles and some killer album tracks that could've been succesful singles too (Breakin Dishes, Cry, Good Girl Gone Bad, Sell Me Candy...) but has some shit on there too (Push Up On Me, Say It, Question Exisiting...).

Rated R was the first Rihanna album I bought and what made me fall in love with her. It's got a wide range of genres, from dubstep (Mad House), pure R&B (Stupid In Love) to more rock-y sounds (Fire Bomb, Rockstar 101), it is very arty. Although it's not very commercial and only really had one huge hit off it (Rude Boy), it's very meaningful and beautiful in parts. Fire Bomb is still one of my favourite songs ever.

LOUD is just full of absolute monster tunes. Only Girl, What's My Name, S&M, Cheers, Man Down, Love The Way You Lie Pt II are all amazing songs. California King Bed and Raining Men are brilliant too. Even the album's weaker tracks (Fading, Complicated, Skin) are still bloody brilliant. It's range of genres is quite something, it almost feels like you're listening to a compilation album of different artists.

Talk That Talk is gritty and sexy and has some amazing tunes on there (We Found Love, Red Lipstick, You Da One, Where Have You Been, Talk That Talk, Drunk On Love) as well as some great little gems that probably won't be singles but are still brilliant (We All Want Love, Do Ya Thang, Cockiness, Roc Me Out, Farewell). As with LOUD, even the weaker tracks are still great (Watch n Learn, Fool In Love). My only problem is that it does feel a bit rushed/unfinished, obviously with Birthday Cake, but I notice that some of the tracks repeat lyrics/whole verses a lot (Red Lipstick, We Found Love, Where Have You Been).

Overall, for sheer consistency and providing the most amount of massive singles, LOUD is my favourite Rihanna album. Followed closely by Rated R, then Talk That Talk, then GGGB.

Best to Worst

Rated R
Talk That Talk
Loud
Good Girl Gone Bad
Music of the Sun
A Girl Like Me

They're all great including Music of the Sun which is a solid debut although it has aged.

The only album I don't love is A Girl Like Me. Only for SOS, Unfaithful and We Ride it would be awful. Every other track is dire. The singles were amazing though.

Good Girl Gone Bad is the ultimate summer album. It reminds me of a certain time in my life when I played it every day over and over for about 6 months all through the summer. GGGB: Reloaded was then released and added two of my favorite songs ever, Distubria and Take a Bow. I think it's Rihanna's signature album and without it she was in danger of fading into obscurity.

Rated R is very personal to me. It came at a dark time in my life and although it's a cliché, it helped me through a dark period. Every track is so raw and you can hear Rihanna's angst in her voice with everything she was going through at the time. It sounds raw, gritty and slightly under-produced but that's what makes it such a masterpiece in my eyes. Tracks like Cold Case Love, Stupid in Love, Te Amo, Russian Roulette and Firebomb are simply perfect. It was a departure from Pop music and I love it. The artwork, the imagery of that era and the Last Girl on Earth tour all complimented the music perfectly. It can be easily compared to Britney's Blackout and Madonna's Ray of Light easily for me.

LOUD was the ultimate upbeat album from Rihanna, it was full of bass, sexy lyrics and catchy tracks. There is no filler on this album for me. I still love S&M, What's My Name and Only Girl. I always class Who's That Chick as part of LOUD also, I even added it to the album in my iTunes.

Talk That Talk is Gritty, Dark and Sexy. Like a combination of her best work. Imagine throwing Loud and Rated R at a wall and seeing what sticks, then blending all the sloppiness together to create an amazing record. I love Where Have You Been, We Found Love (obviously), Birthday Cake, Cockiness, We All Want Love, Rock Me Out, Do Ya Thing and Red Lipstick in particular. They're some of her best tracks through her whole Career.

It really is quite astonishing how many singles she's had over her career;

Pon de Replay
If It's Lovin' That You Want
SOS
Unfaithful
We Ride
Break It Off
Umbrella
Shut Up and Drive
Hate That I Love You
Don't Stop The Music
Take a Bow
Distubia
If I Never See Your Face Again
Rehab
Russian Roulette
Wait Your Turn
Hard
Rude Boy
Te Amo
Rockstar 101
Love The Way You Lie
Only Girl (In The World)
What's My Name
S&M
California King Bed
Man Down
Cheers Drink To That
We Found Love
You Da One
Talk That Talk
Birthday Cake
Where Have You Been (inevitable too)

Live Your Life (TI feature)
All of the Lights (Kanye West feature)
I'll Take Care of You (Drake feature)
Fly (Nicki Minaj feature)
Who's That Chick (David Guetta feature)
Princess of China (Coldplay feature)

32 tracks from HER albums alone. After Talk That Talk is finished she'll have a killer 2 disc singles collection, never mind her upcoming 7th album.

Best to worst:

Rated R
Talk That Talk
Loud & GGGB
A Girl Like Me
Music Of The Sun

I absolutely love Rated R, TTT, Loud and GGGB, great pop albums imo. I really like A Girl Like Me but it's not as good as her latter four and I think Music Of The Sun is her weakest.

Rated R. Whilst not her biggest commercial success compared to her other works, it's her most enjoyable album. I liked the whole darker, more introverted and haunting side to the songs and era.

It has to be Loud. I don't think there's one bad or dull track on that album.

I'm going to go Talk That Talk.

I love Rated R though. Both are her best works.

Loud also contained some good singles.
