For Leona Lewis fans: Would you go off her if she switched to country music?

As some of you know, she was in Nashville last month writing with some stellar song writers. She's also mentioned her fondness of country music.

Personally I think her personality suits the counry genre.

What say you?

I forgot to add, I am not a Leona Lewis's music fan and actually forcing myself to listen to some of music just to write a blog pece about her.

I am however a massive country music fan.

Oh God no, she promised us dance music, so i want the album she's been promising us, but after that, if she wants to go in that direction then i'll still see what its like.

It depends, it could be an album like 21 for all we know.

I can't hear her voice suited country music that much, to be honest!

No - she's from Hackney and doesn't have a country sounding voice. It would not make any sense at all.

I would have to hear the music to make my mind up, I like some country music. However, I don't like the idea of Leona + Country. Saying that I don't like the sound of Leona + Dance either. I liked Collide, and I like GlassHeart. But I don't want her doing anything that will be thrown away after 3 months. So I'd prefer it if she didn't collab with people like Sh!tbull or Flo Rida. She is known for her voice, so Syco better not try sell her out with rent-a-rapper or going down a direction to keep her popular. Imo, I'd choose ballad after ballad instead of a danced influence album. I wouldn't mind her working with David Guetta, if we got another song like Titanium. That kind of thing works. It's just silly, do what you're good at. I don't expect Adele's next album to be a David Guetta stomper

No, I would quite like a country sort of sound for an album, not for GlassHeart though, but in the future I would. I love artists like The Civil Wars, Shania Twain, I think Leona could suit that sound. Like a few fans of mentioned already, I don't want Leona to sing disposable throwaway dance tracks with rappers.

Actually, come to think of it. I wouldn't want Leona to do a country album. But I wouldn't be opposed to her doing a country song with a country artist. It paid of for Kelly Clarkson. But if Leona could do a country/pop crossover then it may do well. A song with someone like Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, I'm cool with that. I just wouldn't want her to try something completely out of her zone

No, there's a lot of good country music out there. Leona has a fantastic voice and I'm sure she could make it work

Adele's from tottenham and sounds like a mix of country and light soul. Origins have no bearing on your singing voice IMO.

I wouldn't go off her, no. Even if I didn't like the songs, I'd still keep supporting her as I'm a fan of her as a person as well as her music.

Goes to show how much you know about country. I don't see her doing traditional country stuff, but more modern with a pop edge. Nashville has some awesome writers and as far as being from Hackney, just like how people from all over the world flock to Hollywood, so does wannabe country singers.

Keith Urban is an Aussie and look his music.

I love this song by Jamie O'Neil and she's another Aussie, I can see Leona doing something like this.

No I don't think she could do country music - she hasn't got the tone in her voice to do it.
Listened to her singing Johnny Cash track on X-Factor final and to be honest it was rubbish.

She should stick to love ballads and no more dance music.
She doesn't have what it takes.

I can listen to her in small doses - definitely not a fan

If the material is good, i would happily give her a chance to do Country music. I am not fussed about the genre, it's the finishing product.

Personally, she doesn't have the voice for Country music

Adele could pull it off

Pop, rock, country, jazz, dance, folk, classical, world...

...whatever music genres there are, none of them would make
Leona Lewis sound good.

Leona would sound good singing anything.
