I'm experiencing an annoying problem with my DVD player, a Shinco DVD-360, which I bought from Gadgetznoe 2-3 years ago when multi-region players were difficult to get hold of.

Basically it is software switchable across regions via a menu option and worked fine until I bought a (legit) R2 copy of The Patriot. This just won't play, keeps coming back to the title/dvd menu like it's in a loop. Hallow Man (R1) works fine so I'm not sure if it's an RCE problem or not.

All other DVD's, be they R1 or R2, work without fault and The Patriot works fine on the PS2

Any ideas ?

There have been quite a few R2 dvd's that won't play on some of the more popular and cheap dvd players.
Some people claim it's a creative approach to the dvd menus on some discs and others claim it's the lower spec of the players themselves.

Most of these R2 discs have been repressed and then play fine on these machines.
I couldn't say if this title had been repressed though.
