I hate Spielberg films.
Especially the bratty kids with their wide eyed wonder. Especially ET, I hate Elliot sooo much with his scream that sounds like a whistle. The Cat From Outerspace is much better Wes Anderson and Tim Burton are one trick ponies; quirky clever weirdos with a glum BillMurray or Gothic outsider Jonny Depo ad nauseum |

I think Twilight Sage Breaking Dawn part 1 is amazing. It has great action, love and romance, tension, and OMG moments. Roll on November!!!!!

ET is a terrible film.
Saw III is the best of the lot. I Love You, Man is one of the best comedies of the 21st century. |

I can't warm to Andrew Garfield as an actor. I'm sure he's as good as everyone says, but I don't think he's that great. Maybe the new Spidey film will change my mind.

Indeed. And that's on top of its laziness, smugness, and absolute cop-out ending.
Sigh. I can never resist giving this empty, posturing rubbish a good kicking

- I enjoyed Alien 3, Indy 4, Alexander, Superman Returns, The A-Team and..........'looks around nervously' Jaws - The Revenge
- I think Tim Burtons Batman films are FAR superior to Christopher Nolans - Christopher Nolan films in general leave me cold (except The Prestige) - Jean Claude Van Damme is a better actor than given credit for - Quentin Tarantino is a better writer than director - Later Scorsese films are better than his 70's films - Stallone CAN act - Dicaprio can't |

JAWS III has an awesome concept and is a pretty good movie, damaged only by the shoehorned 3D effects.

I'll probably be slung out of the forum for this one but I don't think that 'The Pricess Bride' was all that good.

Grease 2 is more enjoyable than Grease.
Slight caveat that Grease is a far better made film and the songs are largely very good, but Grease 2 is just wonderful in its awefulness. |

I've been ripped apart for saying one of these:
- When Harry Met Sally is so smug that it deserves a good slap. - Meryl Steep is a parody of her early self. - Anthony Hopkins is a ham. - Al Pacino is a parody of his early self with the volume knob pointing at 11. - Schindler's List left me cold. Like I told the others, I have seen so many films of this type that I don't see what's special about SL. I understand how or why this film affected those who don't watch films much, though. - Lost in Translation is the finest example of the Ugly American Tourist syndrome. - Casablanca / Brief Encounter are boring (and pretty much a stamp of approval on adultery). - Akira Kurosawa is overrated (my dad will kill me if he sees this) - so is Martin Scorcese (my dad will also kill me for this) - and Lars von Trier - Nora Ephron, too - George Lucas can't create a good plot to save his life - please explain how is Johnny Depp still working? All he does is suck his cheeks in and arch an eyebrow - Ditto Jack Nicholson |

Pulp Fiction is an overlong, self indulgent borefest
Transformers is amongst the worst films ever made Batman Begins is by a distance the best of Nolans Batmans Alien 3 is a misunderstood masterpiece The Godfather trilogy has not dated well and should be nowhere near the top 10 films ever American Pie is not funny The Hangover is not funny Van Wilder is funny Stripes is Bill Murray's best A View to a Kill is a really good Bond Film |

The Inbetweeners Movie is not funny - Can we have some jokes with our awkwardness please?
Judd Apatow is a genius, and most of his films are hilarious Indiana Jones 4, actually quite good Tokyo Drift is the best film in The Fast and The Furious franchise No Country For Old Men wasn't that good Happy Feet is AWFUL |

It isn't homophobic to openly declare that you have absolutely no desire whatsoever to watch a film about cowboy man love.

Hmm, seems a slightly odd thing to feel any 'need' to have to declare. Just for the record are you referring to Brokeback Mountain, or its gay porno variant? I'd give the latter a go but share your apathy towards seeing the former, for what it's worth.

It's easy to see how you would come across homophobic if you had to "declare" that you have "absolutely no desire whatsoever" to see a film about "cowboy man love." Just say you're not interested in seeing a film about something that you know won't resonate with you. For what it's worth, it isn't about "cowboy man love". It's more about being trapped in a conservative society they're unwilling to abandon because of their family roots in its history. The 'cowboy' culture is heavily associated with conservative values, after all. Brokeback Mountain isn't that different from Brief Encounter and similar, actually. I didn't think much of the film, anyway. Found it a bit boring. |
