Sorry for another Netflix thread.

So I have signed up to Netflix UK, I also use LoveFilm. OK so it is not amazing, but it is in its early days. My friend then told me your account is universal and you can log into the US site which i did purely out of curisoity, by using HotSpot shield.

And what I saw made me so mad! Have you seen what they have on the US site? EVERYTHING. Every amazing TV show and movie you can imagine, pretty much. What is even more annoying is that they have more British shows then we do!

Now, I know it is all to do with legal/copyright reasons - but will this change? Will the UK site get all the same content as the US or is there a specific reason why this will never happen?

Over time it may do depending on what licensing deals they get.
The US content has alot of good films only because of their contract with Starz, but that's due to end this month so most of the more recent films will be gone.
It's unlikely you'll ever see the most recent releases on the UK Netflix due to Sky.
Although it seems like the US have alot more than us, we have alot that they don't also.

I’m sure they will get more content over time. The odds that they will get the exact same selection as the US are vanishingly small though. Though, likewise, will probably end up with some material the US doesn’t have.

i honestly think skys movie and tv contracts will ensure Netflix will always be a poor relative to the US version

whats most annoying is that theyre not showing the stuff thats not even being shown in the uk like community and parks & recreation

just use unblockUS or similar to get US content.
