mobiles.co.uk - I got a bargain

I got a Samsung Galaxy Y android phone on T Mobile for £36 a month. My price plan is

750 MB web surfing and e-mails
Your internet usage is subject to a fair use policy (750Mb) and includes unlimited BT WiFi.
900 minutes
Your minutes and texts are from the UK to UK mobile networks, voicemail, 08 numbers and numbers beginning 01, 02 and 03 (excluding Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man).
500 texts
Your minutes and texts are from the UK to UK mobile networks, voicemail, 08 numbers and numbers beginning 01, 02 and 03 (excluding Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man).

Now I originally signed up for unlimited texts and 300 minutes but this isn't too bad. (Don't forget if you have an android or smart phone you can download Viber to make free calls and texts too)

But get this - I also got a free brand new Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. So thats.

a smartphone
a brand new laptop
24 phone bills

for just £36 for 24 months.

What do you think? That site is pretty good for free gifts.

If you have that money to spend a month then it seems OK.
Calling it free gifts though is miss leading as you might of got the phone for around £15 to £20 a month.
But if you needed the laptop then all good.
You also could of got an iphone for the same price but I think a laptop is better.

Well, in short, it depends. Though I think you're mainly paying for the "free gift" i.e. the laptop here, plus it's not a one year, but a two year contract. It depends on if you see this being the value of £864 after a two year period.

An unsubsidised Galaxy Y can be found for £115, laptop probably can be had for £300, I don't think its worth £864 personally, well if you call plenty of 08 numbers maybe.

The laptop probably sells for £350. The phone we'll assign a value of £100 (being generous here). So the balance of £414 works out to £17.25 which is what you are paying for that contract by itself.
A TalkMobile SIMple plan on 6 month contract (i.e. a quarter of yours) would then cost £18pm but give you 1200 mins, 3000 texts, 1GB data

I got a deal like that from mobiles.co.uk a few years ago, got a £500 laptop and a SE Xperia X10 on Orange with 600mins, unlimited texts & unlimited data for just £35 a month for 24 months

So you paid £340 for the xperia and the calls, texts and data.

How much did the Experia cost I wonder?

I guess also they are banking on you spending more somehow and the fact they don't pay retail prices for the laptop or the phone.

Was it really unlimited data or 750MB FUP?

It sounds like a very good deal to be fair.

The Xperia X10 was free (meaning no upfront cost) and the data was truly unlimited but speeds throttled after 3GB but I never noticed it was any slower).

It was a great deal I was very happy, the laptop is still going as well.

I just got a free HTC Wilfire S from mobiles.co.uk, with T-Mobile's Full Monty Package for £23pm a month, including cashback.

36 notes a month is the norm not a bargain. which company do you work for again?

that is one of the worst deals ever! I've seen the phone for £100. A laptop for £280 on sale. And tesco sim only with 1200 mins/5000 texts/1gb data/bt openzone for £12.50pm.

Saves me £200 over the two years that you have to pay
Plus I get more mins, texts, internet and probably a better laptop.

I have to agree with the above......

sorry OP, you didn't get a bargain and I suggest you get a calculator for next time.
