Considering One Direction's origins, that was hardly going to happen, was it? They are as "corporate" as every other winner last night.
The BRIT Awards were set up by the corporate music industry for the corporate music industry so it always has, and always will, be aimed at "rewarding" corporate blandness.
That is why bands like Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, etc, will never get the recognition they deserve for their contribution; not only to British music but for carrying the flag for British music around the world.
