Talk that talk is the 3rd single to be lifted from Rihanna's 6th studio album Talk that talk but it doesn't seem to be doing well. I expected it to be a massive hit after You Da One flopped.

Do you think she will promote the song? Shoot a video? Or move on to her next single?

I don't think the song is doing particularly badly. And it already charted top 40 last year.

If it gets a full promotional campaign, I think it'll be a top 20 hit. I think she'll shoot a video, but Jay-Z has just had a baby, so they might wait a while. Radio 1 only playlisted the song yesterday aswell I think.

Birthday Cake is only a remix, as far as I know, because the fans wanted a full version. It's not really radio friendly.

She could've taken the oppurtunity and promote it at the Brits..

But i don't think it has been officially released in the UK yet?

Yeah, Birthday Cake doesn't sound like a song that would be a single. It's not very "poppy" or "mainstream".

As much as I do love Rihanna, she's not going to release songs like those as singles. She usually goes with safe choices, which are likely to be hits (like Talk That Talk, Where Have You Been, We Found Love etc.).

I really love Rihanna, her performance tonight was great! Very colourful and entertaining!

And i feel if they market the title song right it will be a definite hit...I can imagine her being on a dusty road with her blonde/yellow hair and Jay Z in it

But Where Have You Been will be a stomper.

I do love it when she mixes it up a bit though with Dubby sounds etc.

TBH with Birthday Cake going down like RiRi's ever diminishing wardrobe she got some making up to do.

TTTT great song not one of the best i would say WHYB next with a massive video perhaps a continuation of the WFL video

Her label were pretty against her releasing the single, and according to some people on Popjustice, it's something she did off her own back - to put out there as a vanity project/gift to her fans (the irony) or whatever.

I would rather see Roc Me Out released, anyway.

If her label are against it, it will probably mean that the full remix won't be put for download then (so it can't be a single).

It's possible for Rihanna to record the song without her label knowing (all she really needs is the two guys who produced the track and Chris to write his lyrics and then record them). But there's no way she'd be able to put the song on iTunes, Amazon, etc. if her label are against it. So you're right, it might just end up as a free download or something.

I think people are just starting to get sick of her.
