If he hadn't spent so much time on his crappy intros he wouldn't have had to.

I wouldn't say Adele was a chav or classless. She's not exactly flashing her tits in magazines, out rioting, starting violence, running about in trackies or spitting at people. I dunno what anyone else;s opinion of a chav is but if you think Adele is one, then I'm sure about90% of UK must be a chav then.

I can't blame her for being pissed off and flippin' the bird at producers. She's the biggest worldwide star of the year, and you're cutting her off when receiving the biggest award of the night. Maybe producers should spend more time telling presenters to quit the gabbing and leave it for the winners who want to give thanks in their speeches. Imo She worked hard, got the recognition, wanted to say her thanks and had it dashed. Yes Blur had to perform and they were the Outstanding Contribution to Music, but did they need to perform 4 songs (and another on ITV2) Not like they have been around in the last 10 years. They were shite imo anyway.

And should we be thankful she's not doing all that whilst she's singing out of tune??

Well many seem to think she's a chav. I'm stating that in my opinion of a chav, she is not one. You may think she is singing out of tune, that's your opinion. Not everybody is going to like her. There is no point tearing down somebody with labels.

Hahahahahahahaha this was tooo funny hahahaha but oh dear Adeles a bit of a sore loser, still reeling over her loss to the better artist one direction so she stuck her middle finger up.....what a nice woman. And whats with her gun signs she makes with her hands? Real nice lady she is

I really don't like Adele and if I were behind the scenes at the Brits last night I would have engineered a little ego-popping incident not disimilar to what we saw. Come on, this is a woman who has just won a shed load of Grammys (can't imagine why. I have heard far, far better singers over the years. It's all just hype), and I fear she might need to be brought down to earth just a bit. Adele you are not THAT good luv.

Anyway, there is always some contraversial happening at The Brits. Remember Sam Fox and that guy out of Fleetwood Mac? Chumbawumba and John Prescott ? Adele should think herself lucky she was just cut off mid sentence and not had a bucket of water thrown over her.

Flipping the bird. While I don't approve she shouldn't have been cut off like that.

She should not have been cut off so quickly. Ironic that it was to allow Blur to perform yet their acceptance speech had rambled into incoherency before it finished.

Now, if they had also cut short Blur's speech.............

.........and 4 songs? Better they had cut short one of them!

What I hate is the fact that if it was an over-running football match, it would have been allowed to over-run and the news would have been pushed back to 10:15.

If ITV decide to broadcast a live event, there should be more leeway at the end of the programme, incase it were to over-run. Instead they have made themselves look really unprofessional cutting off the biggest UK music star at the moment.

Next year, ITV should consider allowing the programme to over-run slightly if it needs to or consider pre-recording it again so we don't miss any crucial bits again.

As for me, I think One Direction winning 'Best British Single' is much more embarrassing.

It was so badly organised.

The Brits owners should switch between the BBC and ITV on a rota like the Baftas used to. I would like to see how the BBC organised it for once.

OK, now I am even more annoyed because Blur are playing TWO songs.

She was just waiting for the audience to quieten down, then was stopped just as she just started talking proper.

It really does undermine the awards themselves.
It's just a shambles. They shouldn't have allowed themselves to get into the position where they were running out of time.

Make up for it inbetween the awards when Corden is talking or something. Don't wait until the moment which many will see as one of the biggest moments of the night to move it on.

The whole of America must be laughing at how we do awards ceremonies straight after they did the Grammys.

But the point is that they shouldn't have been, and that they should be better at making sure that it doesn't happen.
If you just shrug it off by saying "It happens" then you are effectively accepting the mediocre.

Can you imagine the organisers of The Grammys just shrugging their shoulders and saying "Oh well, too bad, these things happen"?

If you create and organise one of these awards ceremonies you either want it to be respected as an awards ceremony and for it to be held in high esteem as a major awards ceremony,...or you don't.

Quick thoughts on the Brits.
1. 1 Direction winning best song was embarrassing. Ranks right up there with Justin Beiber winning best artist at vmas.
2. Talking to 1 Direction and Jessie J in the crowd (but not Emile) Why? Complete waste of time. Who cares what Jessie J thinks? They got more camera time than the winner of album of the year. Hell, the Foo Fighters phoned in acceptance got more air time.
3. Blur. The guy paced the f*ing stage reading from a list for minutes on end. Where was James then? And their three songs sounded like sh!t. Great.

I take it that cav is what we call white trash over here? Compared to what? To your friends and family? She's not either to you.To other musicians? Cause that's our only relationship to her. So compare her to our American pop stars. And now tell me she is a cav next to them.
Our stars beat the sh!t out of women, get busted for cocaine, spend half the year in jail or parade around half naked, performing sex acts on stage. And those are just our Grammy winners for this year. Yeah. It's all rock and roll. Adele is in that business and flips the bird and talks common. Wow. What a cav.

Wow. Exactly who here doesn't have class? Your education seems to have been sorely lacking. You seem to have skipped right over the lessons in common decency.

I didn't see the show and live TV us vulnerable to all sorts of issues, add in the need to keep sponsors happy and it's a real can of worms, but it sounds like it was badly mismanaged and not for the first time. I can quite understand Adele's frustration although I think if she were more experienced and mature (I think that all her success sometimes makes people forget that she isn't!) she might have been able to avoid criticism by not reacting as she did. Hopefully everyone concerned will learn from it and try to avoid such things happening in future as it's hardly good PR for the industry.

It really did just all go a bit arse. I don't know why they can't let it overrun, as they should know by now that it often does. In other years they've cut off the end performance by the outstanding contribution act - they did again last night, just a bit more subtly than they did with Adele. And of course it was rude, and unprofessional - arguing that its not that big a deal completely misses that point.

Blur winning this year was a bit odd. If they were going to get it, 2010 might have been a better year after their fantastic come back gigs. A quick rough run through Girls and Boys, Song 2 and Parklife really didn't do them justice. (I saw them at Glastonbury a few years ago, and they were superb.) And if you're going to give anyone an Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, I'd have thought Damon Albarn would have been a more worthy winner than Blur, given the huge number of wildly varied and acclaimed projects he's worked on over the years.

I don't think it really matters whether you like Adele or not.

It was, according to the Brits themselves the biggest and most important award of the night. So much so that they built it up by giving each nominee a special VT and showing them all through the night, rather than just have the nominees read out in the conventional manner. If the Brits want to bill their best Album award as the most important prize in British music then for god sake allow the winner whoever they me be, the time to say their speech.

The whole thing was an embarrassing mess for them.

James Corden looked gutted on the ITV2 show, he was told to cut her off.

It was uncomfortable to watch and ITV should have either let the show overrun or plan the show so that it would run short and then use some filler if it was needed.

A few things that surprise me though are peoples reactions to James Corden and Blur.

For one, it's not James Corden's fault, he would have been told to cut her off by the producers and that would be his job, so you can't blame him for doing it. Blame the producers but not the presenter.

The other thing I don't get is some people bringing Blur into it and going on about Adele winning the biggest award of the night.

She didn't win the biggest award of the night, Blur did, unless of course Album of the Year is now more important than a Lifetime Achievement / Outstanding Contribution type award?

Album of the Year is of course a main award to get, but the LA award is something else, something Adele could collect in 20 years time.

The bottom line is, Adele and Blur should have been given appropriate time. Blur giving a long speech for an outstanding contribution award I can take, anyone giving a long speech with loads of thanks for Lifetime Achievement/Outstanding Contribution type awards I can take.

Blur getting an 11 minute set is fine by me.

Like them or not, they were huge (not moderately successful as someone said earlier). Seriously, I was at school when Blur and Oasis were at their peak and those two bands were massive with quite a rivalry going on.

To call them moderately successful is laughable.

Most artists never get one so it holds some level of prestige and for the artist is of course an honor.

I think Blur were cut short too, weren't they supposed to have an 11 minute set?
