I'm meeting my godson's girlfriend tomorrow night who is a vegan, I usually buy some muffins or treats to take with me for the kids but I'm mindful that she won't be able to eat them - can anyone recommend anything I can get for a vegan from a Supermarket?

Lokum / Turkish delights should be available in the supermarket I guess. Be sure to check the ingredients on the labels though.

Yes that's good - the real stuff should be made with cornflour and not gelatine.
Dried exotic fruit and nuts are lovely too - mango slices, dried bananas etc. You could buy a mix & repackage them in a tissue lined box or if you can find a suitable bag & tie with ribbon.

You don't need steak when you can eat a tasty flat mushroom.

The only thing I can think of would be Green and Blacks organic black chocolate or any other dairy free chocolate (check there is no honey, eggs, beeswax (E901) or other animal products).

Muffins and cakes from a supermarket are likely to contain egg.

Sansburys sell dairy free fudge, and your local health food shop will have a selection of yummy dairy free chocs.

I'm positive Fry's chocolate cream bars are vegan as they're made with soya milk.

Yes. Lots of supermarkets sell life insurance policies nowadays.

Funny that on average vegetarian and vegans are healthier. Don't take my word for it though.

I don't think this should turn into a meat eater/vegan thread, I can see it going horribly wrong.

As others have said OP, either a nice fruit and nut mix which you can repackage, or vegan chocolate. It's usually quite easily available.
