I apologise if I am asking something that has already been asked and/or answered, but do we know if Sky Atlantic plan to show Friday Night Lights back to back to back?

In other words, show all five seasons without transmission breaks over the next 18 months?

That would be cool if they did that.

Don't see why they would want/need to take conventional hiatuses between seasons?

Last I heard SA had only picked up the rights to the first two seasons.

Really loving this show. Caught the first few episodes on Sky Atlantic so got the DVDs. Flew through the first few seasons and am now mid-Season 4. I'm taking a break after a really emotional episode but hope to get back into it when I get off work for the summer. Really glad to see others as enthusiastic about it. I'm really annoyed at myself for flying through them, I always do it as I have with Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men.

I'm really enjoying this show, but I really wish they'd show at least two episodes a week (but considering they allegedly only have rights to the first two seasons...) If they do have rights all five seaons, it will be probably take forever for them to get through! I might get the boxset.

As for the show being melodramatic, that is true, but there is something about the show that elevates it and does something that shows like 90210 and One Tree Hill could only ever dream of doing. I think it could be the ad libbing and camerawork.

And yes, Connie Britton is a hottie! Love Kyle Chandler, too.

Very pleased that Kyle Chandler got the recognition he deserved for the role last year. He broke Bryan Cranston's three year grip on the best actor in a drama award at the Emmys, beating Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Hugh Laurie (House), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Michael C Hall (Dexter).

Well deserved.

The merits of the show go way beyond any appreciation of football. Personally I can take it or leave football, but, the show's a great examination of small town America, and kudos for setting a show, and actually filming it somewhere other than New York, Washington or LA, which have all been done to death.

It's an entertaining easy watch but has its flaws. Slightly too predictable, every second line in the first few episodes was 'you're jason street and i'm lyla garrity' and also the episode names are major spoilers.

Saying that i hope it gets 'renewed' on Sky Atlantic.

Yes indeed, well deserved. I've always liked Kyle Chandler but I think he could have easily been one of those actors who was overlooked because of the acting roles he'd had prior to FNL. The Coach Taylor role is perfect for him.

I agree the show goes beyond football, it does such a good job of portraying the culture and attitudes of middle america. Also the characters have more than a ring of truth, which all adds up to very watchable tv.

It's in no way a teen movie. I've watched all 5 seasons and I'd rate it as one of the best shows ever made, just behind the West Wing in my opinion.

So far (i'm up to E16) the girl playing Julie Taylor has been very wooden and unnatural, the one weak link in my opinion.

Agree with this, can't see how anyone could compare it to a teen movie.

Granted that there are no breaks between Sky Atlantic's showing of season 1 and season 2 then we can expect season 2 to start July 24.

I really hope that they pick up Season 3, 4 and 5. It'd be a shame for them to cut it off at the end of Season 2, especially when i don't think the Season 2-5 DVD's are available in the UK.

Here's hoping! This is my first time watching Friday Night Lights so having to find seasons 3, 4 and 5 elsewhere once 1 and 2 are finished on Sky Atlantic will be a pain.
