Best Interruption - Kanye v.s. Brit Awards
Andy Joannou
22-02-2012
Here's a funny question after Adele being interrupted during her acceptance speech and Twitter going into a frenzy: who interrupted best?
Quote:
“Host Corden was told to end Adele's speech for winning the prestigious 'British Album' prize for 21, as Blur were due to perform.

After Adele thanked her fans and said she was "so, so proud to be British and flying our flag", the Gavin & Stacey star stepped in and said apologetically: "I am so sorry and I can't believe I'm about to cut you off. I'm so sorry."”

Quote:
“West stormed the stage at the VMAs after Taylor Swift bagged the 'best female video' award. He then interrupted her acceptance speech to claim that Beyoncé should have won instead.”

- Video: Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift during acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video', VMAs 2009

So, who gets your vote?

Nothing can beat Kanye and uproar he caused When even Obama commented his actions

Well there is a big difference

What you need to remember, James Corden is a host and employee of ITV1 for that night. He has an earpiece with producers shouting in his ear every single minute on when to move on etc. Likely he had the producers telling him to cut short Adele

Kanye, the arrogant person he is, it was his choice to leave his chair and rudely ridicule Taylor swift due to his own opinion of who the winner should of been

Personally, neither can really be put against one another

What about when Brandon Block interupted Ronnie wood during an award show and he stumbled on stage drunk off his face thinking he had won the award. Apparently the victim of a joke by his friends.
He then refused to leave the stage until he was dragged off by security, called a w*nker by a Rolling Stone, threatened Wood for calling him a w*nker, and then Wood threw his whiskey in Block’s face.

Well both west and adele proved themselves to be total chavs at an award show so its a draw.

The only real winner was taylor who went on to add a few extra zeros to her bank account, gained the love of everyone around the world and had some heavyweight artists and biggest rock gods in the music industry side with her.
Seeing the love taylor was getting on twitter and the comments being written about West from some of the biggest names in the industry was well worth it.

But full marks to beyonce for giving up her speach time so taylor could have her time in the spotlight, have a lot of respect for her for that.

Kanye's was legendary. Adele's interruption doesn't come close.

People will be quoting his infamous words and doing the "Kanye shrug" for years to come.

But Kanye has still gone on to have a lot of international success since the whole thing whilst Taylor has remained as relatively unsuccessfully (probably more successful than most country artists) on a truly global scale.. If it had that much impact, Kanye would be flipping burgers at McDonalds and Taylor the worldwide artist surely?!

I didn't agree with what Kanye did, and obviously neither did Beyonce, but i'll admit I laughed as I would if he had done it to any other artist.. It just showed him for what he is, an egomaniac with a majorly-inflated view of himself..

Cordon was just doing his job so the Brits thing wasnt a big deal, except they could have just kicked Damon off before long before was massive speech began to drag on!!

Rather, a genius with a point. And a very good one at that. He was rude, but wasn't wrong. But it was a fan voted award IIRC, so...what can you do. But to say Beyonce later won video of the year, meant she technically had best female video by default. And looking at the videos, how on earth did Taylor get nominated?

This is too much! "Gained the love of everyone around the world"... Oh My God, I'm dying.

Maybe about a few more million American Tweenage Girls, which didn't last long either seeing as her latest album has sold 3 million less than Fearless.

Including Kanye himself, the highlight of his track featuring Beyonce 'See Me Now' is definitely the line 'And I’mma let you finish, but I got Beyonce on the track'.

The Adele interruption was disappointing but the reaction to it has been completely OTT, whereas Kanye's actions were completely gob-smacking and out of the blue, a truly awkward 'car-crash' event moment.

The Brits fiasco was just a flaw n the organisation, but the VMA's moment was all human and displayed Kanye's planet-sized ego (this is from a big fan of his work as well).
