Your fave sandwiches?
Today I had breaded Wiltshire ham (3 thick slices), onion marmalade, herby salad and lots of Monterey jack cheese with white bread....one of the nicest sandwiches I have ever had, so what about you guys, what are some of your fave sandwich fillings?

Mine is very much the same as yours OP, that is Ham and Cheese. It is basic but I don't half love them. Crusty Roll/Sub Roll sliced, layer of mustard (Dijon or English depending on the heat wanted) crispy lettuce (romaine, kos or little gems) 3 or 4 thick slices of gammon, a few slices of tomato, a couple of slices of cheese, a few slices of pepperoni/salami/pastrami, and a mustard mayo mix for the top.
I love a good sandwich

I love a sandwich and I can't really come up with my fav. It so depends on my mood and cravings of the day. |

American deli style sandwiches, not sure there is anywhere over here you can get them. Pastrami & Corned Beef is my favourite.

Fresh bread with just butter and ham.
Or cheese and banana. Or warm roast chicken and corriander with a bit of satay sauce. Or goats cheese, smoked bacon and grape with red onion and rocket. .......I like sandwiches!

Take one panini.
Smear inside lightly with a pepper sauce. Add cheese (Emmental or similar is excellent) and sliced, cooked chorizo. Put in George Formby grill (or under medium grill) for 3 minutes (or warmed through - cheese slightly melting). Add fresh mint Another good one is a half ciabatta in the oven. Towards the end add some blue cheese (give it long enough to melt slightly) and fried mushrooms. Finish off with some mango chutney |

If we are talking standard white bread sandwich then either prawn mayo with salad or egg mayo & cress.
If it's a toasted ciabatta or panini then goat cheese & roasted vegetables. If it's a bagel then pastrami, gherkin & american mustard or toasted with cream cheese and bacon. |

Tuna, mayo and sweetcorn but heavy on the tuna - I'm not keen on those pre-made deli fillers, that are more mayo and sweetcorn than tuna, white or brown bread I like either.
Hot sandwich - I like crispy well done back bacon and a fried egg yolk (don't like egg white) on unbuttered white toast, ketchup optional |

Depends on my mood
Sometimes you can't beat the old classics - Jam butty Bacon barm Cheese and onion on white bread with plenty of salt and pepper Ham Warm hardboiled egg chopped up with butter and pepper on white bread. And other times, I quite like a fancy dan sandwich Pastrami and sauerkraut on rye bread with sweet German mustard Chicken and pesto and parmesan and rocket and olive oil on foccacia Hot mackerel with beetroot and horseradish on a toasted onion bagel Good strong Lancashire cheese with some species of spicy chutney on slices of crusty white bloomer. |

There's a deli in town that sells a sandwich called the Omar. It's the tastiest sandwich I ever had.
"Salami, Turkey & Swiss on an Onion Roll with Bell Pepper, Onion, chopped Pepperoncini Peppers, Mustard & Italian Dressing" Oh, and someone was nice enough to put a picture up on the web: http://imgur.com/yen6g |

Several spring to mind.
On crusty french baguette (sliced lengthways), spread Brie, add peeled, sliced pears and walnuts - yummy! On warmed pitta bread: hummus, grated carrot and sliced grapes (sounds weird but the sweetness works with the saltiness of the hummus) Again on pitta bread: grill thin slices of oiled aubergine (both sides). Into split pitta bread, insert a stringy kind of sliced cheese, e.g. gruyere, with the aubergine in the middle and - under a hot grill, turned right down, grill it! On granary: peanut butter and sliced banana (can top with greek yogurt if feeling decadent) |

Had a lovely sandwich at work today, well it was more of a sub roll. It was egg mayonnaise with bacon and sausage and like a tomato/onion sauce. Lovely!

I haven't eaten a sandwich in over a year now, but when i did I loved a simple BLT. But it had to have good thick cut bacon in it and barely any mayo. The shop bought ones paled in comparison.

I'm sure that you food snobs would look down on it but I do enjoy the occasional meatball sub from subway.
Aside from that, basic bacon butty with brown sauce or pastrami and mustard mayo with dill pickle. |

In Italy recently I had a warm chicken, mozarella and roast vegetable panini. Every sandwich i've ever had pales in comparison to that, I can taste it now...
