Ticketmaster Secure Delivery.

I recently booked a gig ticket through Ticketmaster. The only option given for postal delivery was "Secure post-signature required". Yesterday I had an email from Ticketmaster saying "Your order is now in the care of the courier for delivery within the next five days. Please note if you are not at home when the courier calls he may post the delivery without obtaining a signature if the property is secure". If he's just gonna pop it through the letter box surely this defeats the object of sending it by signature post to guarantee delivery (which they charge you extra for).

Does seem strange, never used that company, but use seetickets all the time and the service is great.

More and more now seems to be e mailed tickets which works really well it seems.

On the other hand I've had problems with the couriers See use to send out secure delivery tickets, usually it was a case of they'd call whilst I was out at work,I'd rearrange the delivery for my day off then end up staying in all day until they turned up at 5.00pm or even later (they couldn't/wouldn't accomodate a request for morning or afternoon delivery). Eventually I just started rearranging the delivery to my work adress.

Do they not get a neighbour to sign for them and leave a note through your door?

They will normally knock and if no-one is in put it through the door. Last time with me, they knocked and my daughter answered and they wouldn't leave it as she was under 18.

Seems a weird system to operate.

I thought the same when I ordered my Best Coast tickets. They arrived within a week of ordering though which was nice.

Nipped out to the shops yesterday afternoon and sure enough when I came back he'd been and just popped it through the letterbox. As I said it just annoys me that they're charging you extra for secure signature delivery and then just delivering it normally without obtaining a signature or proof that someone has received it.

I suppose because it comes separately from normal post it is more guaranteed, but yes, definitely a bit cheeky.
