The rules have changed from january 2012. I want to take my dogs to france in the summer to brittany.

Does anyone know how much it will cost to get one.

they have both got up to date boosters and have already been chipped.

So, its the rabies jab i need and a passport. Anyone done one recently?

I got 2 done today! It cost me £120 quid per dog but I live in an expensive area. so maybe shop around a bit if you can. Both mine were already chipped and vaccinated so it was just for the rabies jab and passport. It lasts for 3 years though and after that you only need a booster so should be cheaper to renew. Theres a space for an optional photo of the dog as well

Its also a good idea to give anti tick treatment before you go and some sort of heartworm and lungworm prevention I think.

On the way back you have to go to a French vet for a worming tablet - god knows how much they will charge me for that. that can be up to 5 days before coming back into the uk.

oh and EuroTunnel also charge £30 per dog on top of the normal cost of travel.

I think the dogs are costing more to go on this holiday than the humans...
