hello! is there not a quicker way to transfer new tunes off your computer onto iphone other than the sync method that backs up and saves every bleedin photo and app and whatever else?? I've selected 'sync music - selected tracks' but it is taking forever and i suspect that when it is complete the rest of my library on iphone will have been wiped off and replaced only with the selected tracks!! grr!

Not unless you have bought the music via iTunes or have a subscription to iTunes Match.

After the first sync the phone should only update songs that have been added to the library since the last sync, so it shouldn't be taking that long.

On the summary page do you have the option "Convert higher bit rate songs to to 128kbs AAC" selected? That would increase the time it takes when you first sync.
